    Tyrell deserved better but not really.
    This basically sums up my feelings for this character.

    I wish we had got more Tyrell before he went for a walk.

      That's my biggest complaint about the show. I think Tyrell was very underutilized character. I feel he was built to have much more screen time and part in the story and I'm sad they put him behind. S1 Tyrell is my favorite character, then he is gone for almost the whole S2 besides the end, S3 he was mostly complaining and moppy, after having his own episode I though they'll finally bring him more to the screen and have bigger part and in S4 when he actually started working with Elliot & Mr. Robot he was killed early in the season and was my biggest disappointment. I really hoped he would be there till the end helping bringing WhiteRose and the Dark Army.

      @@toreadoress yeah, my opinion on this show has dropped significantly over the last few years. Season 1 was pretty great, and Tyrell was a huge part of that.

      @@toreadoressI wanted Tyrell to interact with Vera.

      I’d argue it was a perfect use of his character. He had all this pomp and bravado, when in fact he was a sad little boy still mad at his dad.
      It mirrors Elliot in some ways, but Elliot never took it out on truly innocent people, or strived to subjugate people the way Tyrell did.
      I think that’s why Tyrell admired Elliot, he didn’t become a monster.

    Only flaw of this series is that they left out this scene, and the one with Price and Colby.

      @spencerwattamaniuk950 Před rokem

      Agreed, but the fact Sam Esmail wrote and filmed it still redeems it in my eyes. It's the editors that chose to cut it out.

      @@spencerwattamaniuk950 - do you know this for sure? Was it the editors and/or network that cut this? Or did Sam decide to cut this upon looking at the final product? Or this coud be introducing a longer storyline that Sam decided not to go down and deemed it more important to focus on other areas?
      I personally don't care for this scene, but that's under the assumption that it was intended to be a stand alone scene with no further ventures down the path of this storyline.
      We essentially find out that Tyrell is potentially a serial killer (just not necessary) and the old mans counter punch/slap to Tyrell makes the scene pretty stupid.

    • @PjKneisel
      @PjKneisel Před 2 měsíci

      I mean we witnessed him beating a houseless man within an inch of his life, strangling a woman to death, shooting Elliot, and I think I may be missing some.
      He could be exaggerating to sound tougher than he is (as would fit Tyrell) or he could have killed others yeah.
      Either way I don’t think this scene reveals much. It’s kind of stronger for Tyrell’s last thought of his family to be what Santiago said.

    Tyrell inspires me in a way, he will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. He thinks power belongs to the one who takes it like he said to Elliot which I think is also true. Not judging on his actions tho

    Tyrell is that figure of the ambitious and intelligent man, someone who craves power.

    The grandfather said "in the Danish courts, this is already decided" as Tyrell's son is Danish, but he was born in the US which means he is American citizen first and Tyrell being in the US and assuming he also has US Citizenship, what does it matter what the Danish courts decided? He is not Danish citizen so Tyrell would have much more leverage in the US courts since his son is US citizen

      The assumption is that this man is potentially powerful enough to make that happen. But irregardless the next step would be Tyrell getting a lawyer and doing all those things and going through a long drawn out process. If it was Sam who made the decision to cut this out, I'm guessing that some of the reason is just that. It's a storyline/road that seems unneccessary to go down when there's other storylines to tend too.
      But I don't like this scene regardless for multiple reasons.

    Holy shit that was a great scene they should've kept it in. The subtitles are pretty bad though, translating a line like "He's going to live with me now" to "He's supposed to be here" really misses the mark.

    • @UnfortunatelyTheHunger
      @UnfortunatelyTheHunger Před rokem +8

      I think it's because the subtitles are going after the original script (assuming it was written in english), while the actors took creative liberties while actually speaking them in their respective native languages

    While this is a well shot and acted scene I can understand why it was cut, but that depends on whether Esmail or the network cut it. Even though Tyrell tends to garner a certain degree of sympathy from the audience, he's not a good person. And even I find myself empathizing with him as it pertains to some things throughout the show, until I step back and really think about it. Are we supposed too? That's a tough question. By cutting this scene it tells me that perhaps we're supposed to empathize with him or at least find his character to be redeemable by the end, that is if Esmail cut it.
    If I had to guess why this scene was cut is, because it makes Tyrell's character even more difficult to redeem considering he admitted to have killed people as in plural (it could merely be a threat but I doubt it since we know of at least one instance to be true). Even though the viewer almost certainly sides with Tyrell given that we assume that this man is probably worse than Tyrell.
    But overall I particularly dislike the part where Tyrell gets counter punched/slapped by the old man. Unnecessary, makes the scene stupid. And this couldn't be the only scene as it pertains to this storyline. There would have to be more, which perhaps that was the original intention before it was decided to cut this.
