I'm currently at the lowest in my life and your comment gives me hope because the next few weeks are gonna determine the next few years (possibly more) of my life and I'm terrified
Fun fact: she actually attended the same high school as my sister! My sister was a few grades below her but she remembers her as being super artistic and musical :) she also had a few tattoos, according to my sister
I believe the song that made her a big mainstream artist is "Closer" with The Chainsmokers, although she'd already been making songs before (her first album Badlands was already out by then). Been a fan of her since her first EP. 😊
not really though she was hugely successful before closer all her singles and most the non singles of badlands went platinum and gold, bad at love was her breakout hit.
It’s true, although she was already known by ppl, ever since closer came out, I started hearing all of her songs on the radio and she started having a lot more hit songs as well
Child "man I'm really struggling to keep up with financials to get me through college, bills and food" Parents "oh I see you're really having a hard time with life in general. As punishment for us not properly preparing you for how the world really works we're going to kick you out" How is that even logical? I swear parents can be really selfish. Just because your kid didn't turn into what you wanted them to be doesn't mean you have some right to treat them like that. They probably ask her for stuff now that she's got her life together. My parents want me to be successful so I can take care of them. Not saying all parents are like that but a lot of them sure are...
@Ghost_ Slaayer I understand but I still don't think that's proper parenting. My parents both go by tough love and negative reinforcement, I understand that they want me to prove them wrong but I'd rather be told that they believe in me rather than tell me I can't do it. Just because her parents are doing it for her benefit and because they love her, doesn't make it ok or right. They're your parents, they are supposed to be some of the only people in your entire life that is going to have your back. And failing college for financial reasons doesn't make her a loser. I don't know the whole story and frankly I don't really care. I just think it was messed up to kick her out over not being able to afford college. She didn't drop out because she wanted to and she didn't fail, it was because of money. Life is hard and if you aren't prepared, it will screw you over and not care
Oh man, I just remembered when I listened to ghost way back 2016 and I wish that time to make her famous because of her talents and now here she is (I still love the new americana album)
I remember listening to ghost a lot in high school (around 2016 too) and a few years later I saw her music everywhere. One day I went back to find ghost and realized it was by her too lol
I remember in 2012 when I was a diehard 1D fan she made a song called the “Haylor Song” and she was very active on Twitter, it’s cool to see that she got so popular lol
Tbh, I don't feel like success just comes from accident. It takes a lot of hard work to reach that height and as far as luck is concerned, then sm1 told me you need to work really really hard in order to get a little bit of succes and I stand by those words :)
I remember when her songs only got like some hundred k views and now she's huge and I couldn't be happier for her and I'm really happy that she's happy now, she has gone through a lot and she deserves to be happy 💜
I know... When we're successful parents show up and be like oh my daughter/boy I love you n stuff like that I hate it.. Like if the parents can't be with the child in his/her bad days they shouldn't be there with them in their good days
in her song "Still Learning" there's this lyric that said "You think I'm swimmin' in green but it's passed around my family tree" which is really generous of her considering of how she was treated by her parents
uhmmm....she never accidentally be famous...she just happened to be so talented and God finally revealed the right time where she shines the best and people should acknowledge that 😭🥺❤️✨
Imagine being the parents driving to church turning on the radio and hearing their daughters voice..after her probably feeling already down for not being able to afford her college AND worse being kicked out without a spot to go and then wham. Some things work out with a little bit of luck for some. Her voice is so beautiful too. The style of singing.i don't know it just heard a few younger foreign girls sing on America got talent or shows like that
And after you've made it most parents would be like, " we love you! We did it for your own good. We kicked you out to teach you character" The funny thing is, if you did not make it and ended up a failure they wouldn't even give you a dime for medical.
in her song "Still Learning" there's this lyric that said "You think I'm swimmin' in green but it's passed around my family tree" which is really generous of her considering of how she was treated by her parents
This is literally the best example of “sometimes you have to be at your lowest to get to the highest”

Omg 🙊

Thats all I have to say
WAIT IS HALSEY JUST ASHLEY WITH THE LETTERS MIXED AROUND 😱
Her stage name is really a good anagram idk how she came up with it but damn
Fun fact: she actually attended the same high school as my sister! My sister was a few grades below her but she remembers her as being super artistic and musical :) she also had a few tattoos, according to my sister
Soóo coollll
Yeah Halsey got her first tattoo at age 15 with her mom. They share their first tattoo! So cute
@@micaelaclifford2729 Aw wait really? That’s adorable! :D

That’s the first time I heard her so I agree
Not rlly, i remember listening to ghost so many times in 2015 before closer was released, and it had millions of views before
I genuinely thought she became famous after her collab with Justin Bieber and with her song New Americana
It’s true, although she was already known by ppl, ever since closer came out, I started hearing all of her songs on the radio and she started having a lot more hit songs as well
Halsey is literally such an ARTIST....
Plus her speeches😌
just now figuring out that Halsey is just Ashley mixed up 😟
Badlands is still a great album. Aged like wine

Yeah it doesn’t remake much sense
Also her parents must have been pretty poor if her daughter couldn’t afford college.

Exactly what happened to me and my parents. Scumbags. I kicked them out of my life forever and I'm 32.
honestly parents shouldnt even had children if parents wouldnt even wanna support them

Me too. Her first EP and first album was like a super aesthetic teen tumblr thing, New Americana made me feel like I belonged somewhere, lol.
The moment you realize that you've been saying her name wrong for years 💀
LMAO I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST MEEE
I USED TO PRONOUNCE HER NAME AS "HAIL SEE" 💀💀💀💀💀
@@uhok4898 My pronunciation was "haze-ly" so...
She deserves the success. I've been a fan since 2014 and her music is great, love her personality as well.
Oh God. I never knew her family did this to her, wow artists don't become this big after a real struggle

Posting a song to SoundCloud isn't an accident, nor is meeting someone who happens to be a music guy
What about the guy that helped her?
Yes ghost is a good song. I remember listened to the remix ver. in soundcloud. I never heard the original version.
Its not really pure *accidental* since she has talent but just dont have any kind of *exposure* from social media.
Her parents kicked her out to punish her...because she didn't have enough money to go to college..?
Am I missing something?😅
It's not just the song, It's the Voice!
who else just realised that Halsey is Ashley but rearranged-
Yeah, it's an anagram. It was intended. I find that amazing!
Ghost is genuinely one of my favorite Halsey songs thus far
