  • I am removing the stock air box off the skoot and replacing it with a K&N pod. Bloody Marvellous!!

    my stock air filter can has 3 hoses that were going to the carb and transmission housing, they are now just hanging there when i changed my filter, dont know what to do with them but stickem together

    It's good for you to have a central stand on scooter. This video seems like you would wheelie in future, haha.
    Mine doesn't have it which means I will have to use a padlock to keep it up-right, unfortunately I dropped my bike once because of this. :(

    I had to redo my whole engine because the cone filter sucks all the dust directly into the engine, Do Not do this!

    Looks like any water you drive through will fly off tire straight in air filter into carb.

      Never had an issue. Heavy rain maybe, but the rear guard keeps it clear. The only issue is fueling. Too much air getting into the carb.

      @@Atomicweasel666 I've just fitted a k&n cone on my moped and it can idle and move at walking speed fine but as soon as I go to actually ride off it bogs and cuts out. now I was thinking it was to do with my air fuel ratio but apparently I'm wrong and nobody else has replied.. of anyone knows about 2 strokes please reply😭

      @@catdrone2232 you'll have to adjust your carburettor's fuel to air ratio. On some scooters it is not possible. The other option is to put the original air cleaner back on, and only change the exhaust.

    What do I if I have a vacuum line going to my air box let it breath?

      Yeah, it won't affect performance too much.

      @@Atomicweasel666 Yamaha Cygnus 125cc 2008 and I want to put an air filter on it just don’t know know where to that vacuum line is going to from the air box 📦 must be going to the head is what makes most sense I’ll have to follow the line and find out my self I guess

      @@Booosted_civic best to swap out the exhaust first, then do the air filter. The performance difference is negligible. Good luck Bruv

    have 4 brand new pod air filters. When I tried to install 1 on my Cy6 Chinese 49cc Taotao, I found a fuel line in the old plastic air intake manifold. What is it and can I move it to the carb directly?

    How do you know which air filter fits if you dont want to make a adapter out of the old filter?

      Measure the inlet to the carburetor. And find one that fits. But you'll have to adjust the air flow so it runs efficiently. I used duct tape around the air filter till it ran sweet. Good luck Dude!!!

      There was too much airflow, the engine kept dying. I've taped up outside of the filter to restrict airflow and keep water at bay.

      Atomic Weasel yo u shouldve upjetted the carburetor to add more fuel if its running way too lean

      Minimal difference in performance, but the clean up of the engine space is great. I had to replace the carb and exhaust to get an extra HP.

      @@Redzz nah, had to tape up the filter as the air flow was too much. You can get a waterproof air filter on Ali Express.

      Better to re carb it , but upgrade your exhaust first
