The guy who built this also has a 1930's version, which is why there are detailed rooms you can't access. You can go in them in the '30's model.
My great-grandfather actually travelled to Europe as an American G.I. when the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth were converted into troop ships.
One day, there the alarms rang out, as the soldiers thought they were being followed by a German sub. Thankfully, it was only a false alarm, but you can probably imagine that in the moment it was very tense.

I loved being in the first-class swimming pool area. Even in its current state, it's still a beautiful space. Every time I go to visit the Queen Mary I am still captivated.

ocean liner designs is far superior
Earlier this September, I visited the MV Doulos Phos, a 109 year old former cargo ship and ocean liner. It had since become a hotel, but much of it was still under renovation and closed, including the bridge. However, I managed to find my way through a closed-off staircase and snuck up into the bridge, and the first thing I said after stepping onto the bridge wing (when I was alone), was shout “BRIDGE WING REVIEW!” and rate the view to myself. It was a 7/10.
Been there me self. Queen Mary just feels so so much bigger than actual bigger cruise ships. maybe it's the ability to walk almost the entire length of the ship without obstacles or that it's an ocean liner.
It feels that way and then you see when the Carnival Cruise is moored near it since it shares the same spot as their terminal and they just tower above her. Still a remarkable ship though.

The day Spammals gets to see the Queen Mary will also be the day I will make the trip down to Long Beach to meet him. I do hope you get to see her in all her glory sometime very soon.
I'm going to use that somehow, someday: "I have played the RMS Queen Mary (in-the-tourist-third-class-lounge)!"

A note for the library room- I have visited it in person, and it is a gift shop! it's very nice to see it in stormworks.
Stormworks doesn't load for me so it's nice to being able to watch the ship I visited numerous times in Long Beach on stormworks. And you get to access places you don't normally get to in real life!
I highly recommend going here, dont miss the horn which should happen at around 11AM American Time. Though I really wanted to go to the bridge but we went to the boiler room instead.
Also when you asked the question about that shop thing, yes it's now a gift shop.

I'm sure that its already been said, but I visited the Queen Mary in the summer of 2019, the Library has since been turned into a gift shop, I got a model of the ship and a magent there. They also sold some period trinkets sold on the ships, books, pins, keychains, magnets etc. Theres has also since been a Starbucks installed on the promanade, next to the library now gift shop if I remember correctly. That'd be one Starbucks I wouldn't mind to work at lol. I was really disappointed to see that the main dining hall was restricted to the public as a private event was being held inside at the time (I think it was a Wedding dinner.)

Yes it is a gift shop if I remember I went before her lifeboats were scrapped in 2017. It was fun! I enjoyed the second class cabin and the tour and getting to eat breakfast on board

I went there so many times! So fun! Me and my family did the Christmas tour and made gingerbread houses! Also I went there when the lifeboats were still all there!

in the main hall now it is shop on right and left on the left to is tourist area middle is other space for tours etc

The lifeboats that were removed were actually never original to the sh ip. They were taken off from Caronia, Carinthia, andmany other smaller running mates after they were scrapped. The only ones that are original to her are the ywo they have saved.
