Racette is spectacular, a supreme interpreter harnessing voice to expression. I saw this at the Met four days earlier, on my 30th birthday. A beautiful memory.

Such a talented singer and actress. Have seen her numerous times at the Met, Houston, Santa Fe--Butterfly, Tosca, Jenufa, Peter Grimes, and Elisabetta in Don Carlos (in which she was outstanding). Hearing her this week sing Madame de Croissy in Dialogues--she sang Blanche and Madame Lidoine earlier in her career I believe.

Saw her do this in LA years ago. Loved her, hated the production as there was dark, sound absorbing foam all over the stage floor. Muffled everyone on stage. She did her best to deal with it. Utter professionalism. Director should be never used again.

Canta muy bien, interpreta y la aria es mi favorita. Pero nunca he visto o escuchado que alguien cante esta aria con tanta intensidad y esa forma de matizar como María Callas.
