hey Colleen, a little advice about the Christmas thing. So my family often has to celebrate Easter a few days after the actual holiday because my sisters volleyball tournaments often get scheduled out of town on Easter weekends. And every year it felt like the END OF THE WORLD to celebrate Easter a few days “late”. In reality, I don’t even remember which Easters we’ve been home for and which ones we’ve had to delay. They’re all just filled with happy memories and good times hunting for baskets and presents :) I know it’s not the same as Christmas, but if you do end up having to just celebrate on January 2nd or some random day, Santa will know to come later, Flynn will still wake up on Christmas morning excited to see the presents under the tree, your babies will be home with you, and it really won’t matter if it happened on December 25th or not. Try not to think of Christmas as a specific date this year, just something you get to celebrate real soon 🤍🤍🤍

we had to do thanksgiving like that with my sister's baby, she was in the hospital with difficulty eating from severe tongue tie. The people there is more important then the actual date. Its just a normal day without the people there. But you can make any day special with the right people.

My family had to “cancel” Christmas one year and the way we explained it to the really young kids was that the 25th was Christmas but we couldn’t have to birthday party (celebrating Christmas) until everyone could be there. They still understood that the 25th was the set day for Christmas but that it didn’t mean we had to celebrate on that day.
Just rewatched the video on the psychic reading about the babies where she tells Colleen not to worry if Baby Girl doesn't meet certain markers and milestones when Baby Boy does and she tells her not to worry and assures her nothing is wrong. She was right! Nothing is wrong Miss Maisy just likes to do things in her own time when she is ready. Sending posting vibes that she will be home before Christmas!

My NICU nurse took the feeding tube out when my baby girl was so close, and that made the hugest difference. It helped her go home much quicker. We were told she had another week, at least, and once the tube was out, she was eating normally and home 2 days later. It's worth a discussion with the staff, if you feel like she's ready. Excited for all of you.

Our twin girl was slow to feed in NICU too. We switched her from the hospital bottle to the one she would be using at home.. and Bam she came home two days later! 💕

Little wins are everything in the NICU! When my son was born he wasn’t able to breathe on his own, and we celebrated him coming off the CPAP, then off the forced air cannula, then slowly weaning off a normal flow cannula, until he was able to breathe on his own. Once he was taken off oxygen support they moved him from his special NICU bed to a normal hospital crib. I bawled my eyes out every step of the way. You got this, mama. Go sweet Maisy, you really are amazing!

I was also a nicu baby (born in October) and all my mom told me was “it was too cold so i left u at the hospital”😭😭 implying she barely went for her visits lol

I am SO PROUD of Miss Maisy Jo! She's getting there. She's going to do her part, now you need to do yours. Get as much rest as possible, let Grandma take care of Wesley sometimes do you and Erik can sleep. Once Maisy is home, all bets are off. This has been an exhausting journey for all. Make sure you are rested so you can devote the time she needs when she gets home but so that you stay healthy physically and mentally too.

My son was twin B and took longer to come home. With him it was struggle struggle struggle *flip the switch* got it, went home. A lot of my nurses said one day he would just get it, and for him that was true. Hope the same goes for Maisey!

Oh my GOSH COLLEEN Please someone get this message to her - no one believed me that my son had the SAME issue until he stopped breathing in the doctors office and they called the squad. The formula was aspirating into his lungs and he would stop breathing. He made that SAME sound. He has dysphasia and aspiration issues. Aaahh! Please get this to her! The nurse told me - oh, you’re a new mom....at the HOSPITAL after he stopped breathing - and then they did the swallow study.

I usually don’t comment on videos but watching you as a mother has been my saving grace. My boy is 14 months now and there have been so many times I’ve doubted myself. Flynn has been wiping his brow with back of hand quite repeatedly in the latest videos. Maybe it’s since he started wearing the super cute head bands. He may be wiping away phantom bangs 😂🥰.

Yes!!! When my daughter was born she couldn't latch on to me because she was so small. The nurse literally would help me feed her drops of my breast milk with a plastic spoon and a syringe without the needle of coarse. The day she latched on to a preemie nipple bottle I was so happy she finished one ounce of milk! She's a happy toddler now!
It makes my heart so so warm that one day Flynn, Wesley and Maisy are going to be grown up and looking through the comments under these videos in shock of how many people care about them and how many people get so excited for these little baby steps that they take!! It’s just so so cute man

I really love Flynn’s headbands. That is such an excellent idea. I wish I would have thought of that before I chopped all of my little one’s curls off 😞 He was annoyed with it falling in his face, and I couldn’t figure out a tolerable alternative. Now it is growing back all silly. Congratulations to baby girl for chugging that bot like a boss lady ❤️ she is absolutely precious. She almost had her little hand on her mouth too. She is a smarty pants.
