  • This video is my first experience refining in Ragnarok Online. The Refine System in Ragnarok Online is actually hard and expensive. iRO is having an Enrich Refine Event and I would like to give it a try. iRo is a Renewal version of the game.
Ragnarok Online (Korean: 라그나로크 온라인, marketed as Ragnarök, and alternatively subtitled The Final Destiny of the Gods) is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) created by Gravity-based on the manhwa Ragnarok by Lee Myung-jin. It was released in South Korea on 31 August 2002 for Microsoft Windows.

Fun to watch! Made me feel better about my bad luck streaks, lol!

Refining is so hard in Ragnarok online. The only time I will do it again is when there is a Refine Boost event. I also learned that HD elu/ori items are cheaper and they have the same chances as enriched items.

COST SAVINGS HINT for IRO: I never use enriched ores to get back to +7. If it drops below 7, I immediately switch to using one of the many free Safe To 7 certificates I have stockpiled. It's better to use something free than enriched ore.
These Safe to 7 certificates are free from the EAT GEAR mimic in the upper right corner of Eden Lobby. Simply take your many honor tokens from The Royal Banquet daily quests and your many Schwartzwald tokens from Terra Gloria daily quests to buy up the respective Noblesse and Imperial armor/manteau/boots along with their refining certicate to get them to +9. Then feed these Nobless and Imperial +9 gears to the EAT GEAR mimic for a chance to get from 2 to 5 Safe to 7 armor certificates which currently can be used for either headgears or general armor items. The Safe to 7 weapon certificate can be obtained by trading two Safe to 7 armor certs to the Eden 2nd floor NPC sitting in the comfy chair near the center of the room. Use these Safe to 7 certs with the NPC located outdoors at the back of the Prontera refine shop. No ores are needed as the certificate bumps it back up to +7.

Thank you for the advice. I was really new to the game, that's why I made the mistake. I also found out that HD ores are better.

@@GearGamingROYeah, HD elu/ori is cheaper especially since right now the refine success rate is boosted from the even. I had confused carnium/bradium and HD carnium/HD bradium earlier. It is the regular carnium/bradium that had the small chance of breakage (or drop 3 levels) when refine fails. But use of HD carnium/HD bradium gets rid of the small chance of breakage.

I wasted 160m today making a +10 but I ended up +8. Its 40% more like 20%. For a pure F2P player, zeny wasted. Next time Ill just buy the item.

I'm sorry to hear that. Refining is so hard. +10 would be impossible for me, too. I think I will try the certificate envelope next time. Just for my gambling itch. But you're right. Buying it from other people is the cheapest.

@@GearGamingROWhat about that written "tiny chance of failure" problem with HD? Or is that obsolete text and it no longer can fail?
FOLLOWUP: my above comment is about HD Carnium and HD Bradium. Use of regular carnium/bradium has the small chance of breakage or a drop of three levels. But use of HD carnium/HD bradium no longer can break but drops one level if the refine fails..

@@animejanai4657 I didn't know that there was a chance of failure on HD Ore. The few times I used HD ore it was ok.

@@GearGamingROThat was last year, so I haven't rechecked by using HD ore again AFTER 4th Class introduced Ether type ores to the refinement system . When trying the ore, at the very bottom of the refine display, some tiny text appears. It was the same location where text appears when you use regular oridecon/elunium and it says failure to refine destroys the equipment. I will re-read the IROWIKI "Refinement System" article as well. Maybe my info is old, obsolete, and thus no longer applies.
FOLLOWUP: It seems that I MIS-REMEMBERED the ores in confusion. The HD oridecon/elunium is fine without the chance of breakage. It is the use of Carnium/Bradium to refine from +10 or higher that has either the small chance of failure or the drop of three levels. To avoid the small chance of failure, HD Carnium or HD Bradium must be used whereupon refines from +10 onwards no longer have the small chance of breakage but may still drop one level. This is confirmed when putting in a +10 gear into the refine process and you click thru the ore options. It is also listed in the IROWIKI Refinement System article.

@@GearGamingRO I was confused earlier because my memories short circuited between HD ori/elu and HD carnium/bradium. It is regular carnium/bradium that has the small chance of breakage whereas using HD carnium/bradium gets rid of that small breakage chance.
