Looks lovely, but am I the only person thinking... for 250k, I'd want a slightly bigger oven?

If I had £250k to spend, I’d be flying to a five star hotel in the Caribbean every year

German caravans often had no ovens. I owned one. They prefer just hobs and BBQ. But I agree, for £250k I’d expect a big oven so you could cook a roast.
The isolated cab is good for night driving, similar to a boat. I like the separate shower and toilet compartments too

Very clever lounge with cab pass-through if needed, and of course love the split bath. In RVs, boats and tiny houses, hallways are wasted space. Making it do double duty is priceless, like in this case where the hallway becomes the bathroom. Well done. Thanks for the tour!

So many RVs are designed by zero sum divisions. For space "here" we must lose space "there". This coach is different. They've gone for compromise and to accomplish this they employed cleverness. As a person who works all week long on RV repairs, I thought I'd seen all the variations - I hadn't. Way to go Dethleffs team - good work. And thanks, Nick for finding this beauty.

I like how you can close off the cab. Never liked that in motorhomes. The close off main bedroom and toilet/shower is genius.
Nice but very expensive. I think if i was touring I'd drive a landrover and stop at b&b overnight.
Having said that, as I haven't lived in England for 30 years I'm not sure how economical that is (for the UK and or Europe).

The rear bed has a slide as well, to pull out over the steps and then an infill mattress goes in it, so that rear bed is huge
This is certainly a impressive motorhome fantastic long distance touring around Great Britain and Europe for a couple. And the occasional visit form the grandkids.

For that money wouldn’t want an over cab, but would expect self levelling, a coffee maker and a decent oven with 4 burner hob, which all the competition offer.
Whoops, another thing to remember. I’d be driving off with the stabilisers down.
Don’t panic it won’t let you drive without the stabilisers up. Trust me I know! 😂

Handy tip with those fridge doors that open both ways, you can easily take the door off if you have the door open and then release the latch on the opposite side
I might be wrong, but I don't think you can. Once one catch is open, the other side won't release.
Btw, ovens and microwaves etc. On boats also, why are they sometimes high up. Surely that's dangerous, have something hot you're trying g to get out but it's above your head. Just doesn't make sense.
Same as the idea of having a small freezer compartment. Surely for long trips, the freezer is very important and should be bigger.
Needs a bigger Oven. Especially at that price and considering everything else they have got in.
If you've got the money to buy one of these I doubt very much if you'll be doing a lot of cooking. I'd be eating out and just having a occasional meal/ snack inside the motorhome .even though this sleeps and seat's 6 I bet it will be a retired couple using it with the odd vist from the grandkids.
Looked at these a few years ago but went with the Burstner 747.
Twin axle gave a better ride than the twin wheel.
Quarter of a million quid, manual awning, manual stabilisers, standard Iveco cab….. I can’t be the only one asking where that sum of money is going.
The pockets of the company... It's very clear to see this is grossly overpriced.. Fools and their money I guess....
Bit of a ripoff
Really, really nice unit, The one critique is that there's not enough kitchen bench space, this is true of all of the same ilk. Otherwise I think superb, costly though!
I had a "C" class camper on a Ford chassis that had a very similar design. It may be touted to sleep six, but more than two people on a rainy day and they won't remain friends for very long!
I appreciate the amount of storage space but I think front swivel seats are a must for any compactly sized motorhome, not that this is one, but I feel like it could've been more spacious with them.

When he said the cab is a nice place to be he means when youre broken down by the side of the road waiting to be recovered.
This campervan is beautiful everything you need and it’s spacious it’s very luxurious but then again it should be for that price.

you did a presentation on an RC motorhome .. which is the same price and knocks this one out of the park in terms of quality, space and design.
It’s not a patch on my motor home, same length, but with dual slide outs has far more room, even have a washing machine in the bathroom
If I had this kind of money to spend I don't think I'd want an Iveco chassis and the oven looks like a grill to me
They should provide a chef for that amount of money

I know the fit out on these is nice but at 250k, there's some huge margin within these things when you think about what materials actually make these things. And that's the smallest oven I've seen in a European rv. Normally that's the space for the microwave.
Especially when you consider that all the parts are from the standard catalogues and they go into vans a fraction of the price. The only really bespoke element in these vans is the woodwork. Really can't see how this is worth 250k, I'd have priced nearer to 125k which is a similar price to the 5Ton tag axle Autotrail comanche units...
@Peter Kay exactly. Don't get me wrong, I'm no anti-capitalist by any means but I've watched loads of videos on motorhomes the last ten years and have hired quite a few and done my research on them, and whilst they have always been expensive, it feels like some of them are taking the mickey now. And I get it, things are worth what people are willing to pay, but I think that at 250k, it really opens up the playing field to much better choices.

@The Edelweiss Pirate quite the opposite I think. And for someone with a lot of money, these are often just one of their toys. I see people using these for being part of or following motorsports events around and even music festivals.
@@63mckenzie Pretty common in the U.S…just a different lifestyle. We’ve done both for different reasons and although we’ve done most of our RVing as a family, also now like to get away from the commercial settings and enjoy the outdoors. We just got back from a stay at a luxury resort this weekend and we’re talking about our next rv trip on the way back.

This was a wonderful RV home 👍🏼 I really like the layout,…. However, the kitchen could have more space. Love it still but too bad we can’t purchase it from where I live 😟

Is there a dedicated extractor fan for the cooker? I never see them on campers and in my ratty converted transit i built one in, so do people never really cook, they just go to restaurants?

Cracking and impressive layout. A microwave is definitely needed for a family of 6. Not too impressed with winding down stabilisers. Self levelling should be included in the price. Great video as ever.
Surely a combination oven might be better as you can have the best of both worlds, I guess it might be an option as it were.
Hi Nick! We enjoy both your channels and it is interesting seeing the products and brands marketed in the UK compared to what we see in the US. We have a 37’ Class A, but see a lot of Class C’s here, which fit more available spaces, are somewhat easier to drive, and typically more economical to run. Are your RVs generally built in the UK, or are they imported?
We have Class C’s north of 200K, but most buyers at least consider a Class A in that price range which will get you more living space and full-size features. You commented that people would not buy a house instead of an RV, but it’s pretty common for retirees to sell their home and go full time here in the US. Don’t know if that happens in the UK, and it’s not unusual here to spend 500K on a luxury diesel bus to make it more like home. In the end, people get to make their own choices regardless of what others think😂.

That's not something you really see happening in the UK, I don't think our weather is good enough to want to live in a motorhome all year round. 🙂
@@MOTAHOLIC Many people do live full time in their Motorhomes. But not this one as it's clearly meant for fair weather occasional touring.
For £250k the stabilisers should be electric hydraulic operated by a switch
Supplied with a person to operate them too for that price...

Thanks for the video reviews, I have just a minor complaint, nothing major, but at times we lose the volume on your microphone and it is hard if not impossible to make out what you are saying. Other than that I enjoy your reviews.
I was so hoping that this would be a perfect motorhome, but felt let down badly with the cooking facilities. There is no microwave and only one wee small oven that is perched way high above the fridge. If you are spending this amount of money then you would expect better kitchen facilities. Also, the main bed must surely have an infill area when you first approach it - or is it really like twin beds there and no double sleeping arrangements other than up the front? So because of these issues it's a disappointment for me.
Agreed, although the kitchen is designed for them mainland European domestic market who tend to use microwaves and ovens less than the UK market (as this is a German manufacturer).
There is an infill to convert it from a twin to a double. There is/was a model which has an island double bed called the 9050-2 DBM.
I could happily live in one or these and enjoy touring the UK and Ireland while doing mediumship for income. Just got to raise the pennies first…

I'd love to see a head to head between a 250 grand boat and a 250 grand RV.
I thoroughly enjoy your videos but I just don't understand why, at this price point, they continue to use a cassette toilet rather than a regular black tank configuration. That is the only drawback I would have for this kind of money! All the rest of this coach is quite lovely!

very nice but.... should be full off grid with 24v with large capacity of fresh water , solar and batteries, microwave/air fryer outside shower, wifi, a Lott missing which should be included at that price!

£250k will buy a nice second yacht Nick and that would be my preference. The oven was in the wrong place, to high for safety and small.
I remember seeing one at a show a few years ago. It was far cheaper then.

Seems crazy money to me. A top line caravan is 40k and a really good tow car would be 40k I just don't see where the extra money has gone.
For 250k it should have a marine toilet with a 150ltr tank.

£252k. Somebody is having a laugh. Motorhomes have become very popular since CV-19 and with increased demand comes increased prices. For that sort of money you are into a very nice high end A class.
