What??? Some of the commenters have got to be kidding with their "critique". Loved it. I was blown away by her beautiful version of this song, and her voice is smooth and gorgeous.
I think that she still sounds great. I think people over-dramatise this "ruining of her voice". I'm not saying that Wicked didn't take it's toll, but I think her voice has recovered greatly.
I think she got nodules over the duration of her runs in Wicked, the effect it had on her voice reminds me of what The Bodyguard tour did to Whitney Houston's voice.
Most of this was ontune.. Just bits, she riffed alot. It fell flat near the "so if you cant find me" and so on. Bless her, she just needs to get her pitch back, but apart from that, her vocal technique is correct, apart from her "ee's" which are nasal. Maybe she should just change the way she pronounces it so instead of "meee" its "Meehhh" maybe that'd be a bit easier for her untill she can be instruced by a vocal coach about her ee's.
Eden's "eee" vowel sounds are still nasal, which is taking her voice out of alignment. If she can keep it in the same placement every vowel, then she'd have an easier time. Some of her vowels got better with time, but not enough.
Kurczak Pick one or the other. Eden managed her other vowels but eee. Idina has always been like this. So I’d reference Eden but she’s got one vowel i think she could continue working on. Especially hearing Eden in the Tangled TV show.
she's an excellent singer but her broadway performances were definitely better. this was offkey from the first chorus on :/ also, does anyone else notice the irony of her singing defying gravity at a church (aside from the fact that it's from a musical about witchcraft). isn't religion all about playing by the rules of someone else's game? accepting limits cuz someone (the bible) says they're so?
Cassandra sings Defying Gravity
Daffa916 TheDisneyPrincessFan Est. 2003 yeah I actually really want her and Mandy to do a version of For Good.

Saw Eden when she was the standby for Idina Menzel on Broadway (Earlier Wicked days) and she still sounds amazing!!
She really is amazing! ❤

very good, where was this, was it on TV?

All this chasing after the highest belt when needed and not has cost her a voice.
Is there any other version that says "no man, woman, boy or girl" or is it just this one?
She got better in the middle...!
Cassandra UwU
For me she's much better than Idina Menzel and I regret she didn't get the role in Frozen.
Imagine Indina singing crossing the line it would be SOOOOO epic
Not that it wasn't before but it's a really interesting thought
👊
The head voice notes were rough. And yeah, the first me down was very flat. But it was a cool rendition for sure!

What would you say about Idina then, whose ALL vowels are nasal?
