China's Dong Dong wins gold in the men's trampoline event at the London 2012 Olympic Games (3 August).
Russia's Dmitry Ushakov won the silver medal with China's Lu Chunglong claiming bronze.
Developed in 1934, trampolines were originally used to train astronauts or were used as a training tool for other sports. They soon became popular in their own right and a sport was born.
Trampolining made its first appearance at the 2000 Games in Sydney, with men's and women's competitions. The number of events (two) has remained unchanged since then.

I am 66 years old and competed on the trampoline in the early 1970's when I was in college. I can tell you first hand that the difficulty of what we were doing back then compared to Dong Dong's, and others in this video is a giant leap. I was extremely impressed!!!

Not really. "sha-la" is a Chinese loanword of the English word "salad", which, like most Chinese loanwords, doesn't even sound like the original English word, much less Sarah, which is totally unrelated.

many factors like how center they stay on the trampoline instead of moving around on each move, and height of bounce. Legs being close together instead of apart.

Lol. The sound was a little behind from the actual jump. No matter what happends, light will always be faster than sound. The difference is way too much for light to slow down that much when it is traveling
