My boyfriend is deployed so this is the first year that we’re not celebrating Valentine’s Day together. I haven’t been able to communicate with him but just listening the music that we both like in common made me feel comforted even though I can’t be with him.

As a single mom my valentine is my son and tonight we wil celebrate with the dinner my mom is making for the family afterward my son & I will have hot cocoa with a tiny splash of coffee with a yummy treat on the side.
I will gift my son a little gift bag filled with treats/valentine's card & ballon along with giving him his valentine's card filled with a little money from his grandparent's so eventhough today is a small day nothing huge I still want to reflect and remind my son how much he is loved and to just spend time with befpre he becomes to cool for school for me lol because he is getting older now will be 13 this year so I will take advantage of every moment with him and cherish all our momma & son memories because that is so important..

an event that brought me closer to my 2 adult daughters and my daughter in law was Last month (in Oregon) when our power was out for a week due to an ice storm. We had no electricity or heat we only had candles for residual heat and ate cold food, but we all got along and had nice conversations and played board games.

😍 reconnecting with friends l have not spoken to for ages due to COVID and grief from loss of my Mum 6 months ago. These beautiful people accepted me like we spoke yesterday. Very scary to do but so very blessed. Love couple goals and appreciate how hard you work knowing you both have full time jobs!!!!!❤

You guys remind me so much of my fiancé and myself. We’ve been together, coming up on 5 years in July, and no matter how much time we spend together, it’s never enough. Aww I asked my significant other the question but he didn't really have a recent experience where he felt closer to someone. Haha failed to mention me but we do spend every day together. I have been with my partner for 14 years. We live apart due to me looking after my dad & he runs his own business. He has been poorly & had to keep away so as not to make me & my dad poorly. We don't bother making cards now but we met up a day later to have lunch together & a walk. We respect each other & care for each other & just my partner being there for me at the end of the phone & being my best friend is all I need. Since looking after my dad priorities & my mindset has changed about what love is. My partner says he's proud of me that makes me feel loved❤
Yeah I see some people celebrate Valentines Day with week long vacations, 10,000 roses and giant teddy bears…all I think is “omg, I know that teddy bear was likely $200-$300 and 1000 roses alone are like $3,500” I would DIE if my man spent that kinda money on something so silly. But for some gift receiving\giving is their love language…my man and I usually do quality time like you guys or acts of service. So I feel Valentines should be celebrated in whatever way you and your partner give and receive love. Xoxo

My husband brought chocolate for us to share. Also a little candy for our 4 year old daughter and our two teenage sons. It was really sweet. We don't do anything for Valentine's Day. We have been married for almost 16 years and appreciate each other everyday.

Some think your anniversary is a test to see how your relationship is going, but on valentines EVERYONE is supposed to be celebrating love so it’s almost like you’re forced to embrace it from all sides. Where as on anniversary you can kind of just not talk about it and enjoy it or not feel as guilty by peers to show your relationship is doing well
I think what you're referring to for Sandy is called a Midwest goodbye 😂 it's definitely a whole process... I am from Nebraska born and raised so I'm very familiar with the Midwest goodbye it usually begins with one person slaps their knees and says welp! And then everybody knows like okay well it's time to start saying goodbyes hugs you chat as you're walking to the door then you chat more while you're putting on your coat at the door then you guys hug again then you walk out to the car then you wave and you got to give a little honk when you leave 😂

Me and my hubby don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. We make sure our kids do for there school but we always say no reason to do something on 1 day bc your supposed too. I’d rather get something randomly throughout the year than on vday. lol
It's not just Mexicans it's overall a hispanic latin culture's thing because my dad's family is mixed with Mexican American/Native American and my mom & her family are from Colombia and trust it's rude if you leave without saying bye to everyone and depending on who the person is you gotta make sure to include a hug with that goodbye and saying bye always feels like it takes forever👋🏻😆🫣

my MIL pretended to like me for 8 years, her children are easily manipulated, but i am not and she doesnt like that. she has made me look like the bad guy, and if i wasnt so anti social i could prove im not...my anti social nature can seem like guilt to them. i just feel bad for them that they feel this way about anyone at all. everyone is family.

Say good bye & everyone gathers by the door to say buy. My man thou... He is white asf.. I have to tell him atleast 40 min before we go from one of his friends parties that he needs to start saying goodbye xD I learnt from the first time where we missed 2 busses beacuse he can't stop having good bye converations

😂 well this white woman is rarely early/ on time for events. I'm always running behind. When I was younger I was just too wrapped up in partying and wasn't good at gauging time. Now I have 2 kids and it takes a lot of time to get everyone ready and remember to bring everything. My husband is the exact same way (maybe a little worse 😂) My family and in-laws all know that we are most likely going to be running behind 😆
