Exactly. Notice how everybody who makes a video against AG1 really can't give any explanation as to why they don't recommend it besides the price? It is easily the best multivitamin on the market in my opinion and if you are spending anything close to that per month on bad food, alcohol, nights out / events, it's not a waste of money at all.

Tip for fiber: buy large package of mixed nuts. Unsalted. Toss them in a blender until it's a nice crumble. Bit like coarse chucky sand. But nor so long it starts lumping too much. Put in a Tupperware box to keep it good.
Now toss those delicious, crumbled nuts on everything! Oats with blueberries in the morning? Add crumble! Slice up a banana with some quark? Add crumble! Smoothy? ADD CRRUMMBLLLEEE!

"eat the rainbow" - eat 5 to 7 servings of differently coloured fruits and veggies every day and you just cannot go wrong. Also, to reduce the amount of sweets I eat I have a bowl of apples, mandarines, grapes... on my bedroom cupboard and made it a habit to first eat a piece of fruit before I allow myself some of the highly processed cr@p. More often than not I the need for the cr@p sweets is gone after the fruit.

So I've used AG1 for almost a year, and I felt better on it, my skin looked healthier, recovery from workouts was better, digestion was better, ... blood markers also improved (Liver enzymes, blood lipids).
I decided then, that maybe it was all just coincidence/in my head so decided to take a break from it.
My skin worsened again, got sick twice in one month (didn't get sick at all during my AG1 spell) and my digestion worsened. Been feeling more rundown as well.
This is obviously just anecdotal, so take it for what it's worth. I think too many people shit on the product without giving it an actual try for any length of time.
Edit: and just to state this as well, I eat relatively healthy, I eat fruits and veg daily, healthy fats from daily avocado/omega 3 supplement, ... I exercise daily (hybrid: 8 hours cardio per week, 3-4 hours strength/week)

Still looking for that holy grail tub o' nutrients--even after your video today(no disrespect, just wondering why someone can't come up with something or if I'm missing something already out there). I fall in the "no time to eat therefore worried about malnutrition" camp. Not a good camp to be in when training for Ironmans, Ultramarathons, and 200+ mile bike races.

    • @AdamMc192
      @AdamMc192  Před rokem +1

Yeah it’s definitely difficult when you’re training a lot and need a lot of calories. Fruit and vegetables usually take the hit. I think in those cases there’s potentially reason to use a greens powder, but which one is best is literally a stab in the dark as there’s little research (as highlighted in the video) on greens powders. If I was you, I’d look into specific plant extracts that can enhance performance such as nitrates (found in beets) or citrulline (found in watermelon). I’d also make sure (much higher importance) that you’re eating enough calories and fuelling your training adequately.

The small frictional change I can make is taking super greens. Not all of us have the time to go grocery shopping for fresh fruits and vegetables all the time. Nor do we have the appetite to eat so much f00d. Greens are helpful for people that cannot get all those important nutrients in. Proprietary 0r not, they give me more than what I would be able to eat 0n any given meal. For people that fast 0r do 1 meal a day, green supplements are a great source to help ensure they are getting at least some form of required nutrients in.
It sure beats taking 50 different capsules to meet RDA requirements. There are many benefits being overlooked especially for the people that do not have the stomach to eat ALL that food. Naturally super greens are not going to contain D 0r K since they are fat soluble which obviously would not blend in a powder. People should be more educated in reading the RDA’s and then their supplements, understanding that 0ne has to supplement their supplements and that 0ur foods also do not make the full cut by themselves. N0 human could consume THAT much f00d to meet the RDA 0f each vitamin, minerals, phytonutrients etc. It is borderline ridiculous to expect people to do so. Besides, far too many people are already overweight, let’s not make them struggle more

Ramp up your fiber intake to fireproof against intestine cancer. I found (cheap, locally sourced) crushed linseed to be effective. Please don't overdose. 15 grams maximum daily allowance (1 to 1.5 tablespoons) because it's quite cadmium-rich and those heavy metals are never good. Crushed better than uncrushed because uncrushed linseed can hardly be "opened" by the body. Its fibres still do work positively but all those precious ingredients leave your body unused (look at your stool if you don't believe me). With crushed linseed you can use both its fibres and ingredients.

The only thing I disagree with is the fruit juice recommendation, which I am open to hearing more information about.
I am a nurse, not a nutritionist, yet I learned that fruit juice spikes blood sugar compared to eating whole fruit, which does not, due to the fiber content. Additionally, fruit juice can be an easy way to overdo it on the calories. I learned from my own research to eat my fruit with protein to stabilize blood sugar levels.

@@AdamMc192 Thank you for your reply. I also want to say that I appreciate your video. I ended my AG1 subscription because of it. I wish somebody would come up with a supplement that is actually good. I have thoughts on what that would look like (below). I would be interested in your thoughts.
What I would be looking for in such a supplement Are an abundance of nutrients in medically significant quantities, nutrients that are really hard to come by and are that are also very valuable.
In addition, it could be helpful to add in the most frequently missed nutrients, like you listed. I also wouldn’t mind some vitamins because you don’t have to have those in your total value all at once… they can just contribute to my daily intake.
Another idea: since you said there are increasing benefits for taking in certain nutrients above the daily value, it could be helpful to include those in sufficient quantities also.

I was hoping for some excellent alternative products to AG1 that doesn't cost a ridiculous 100 USD so they can afford to pay their influences. Obviously eating far more fruit n veg is far better alternative with many of their major ingredients costing a fraction and in bulk. You could legit mix the top 8 into your own formula and have 5-10 x the amount of powder. Also nowhere does it say AG1 is organic or organically sourced so if you select organic powders to mix you will be even better off.

This "effective dose" concept needs to be reevaluated. Adaptogens seem to be studied mostly in isolation in vivo and sometimes across several dose ranges. A few, like ashwagandha and rhodiola, seem to be dosed arbitrarily when given to the participants, without mentioning any particular reasoning for using the specific dose given instead of a lower one. If more research was done on different dose ranges of adaptogens, it's not unreasonable to think that lower doses may still be effective. After all, caffeine and many other drugs have effects along a spectrum of doses, and suggesting that because a certain dose was used in research makes it the effective dose and anything less is "underdosed" doesn't make sense. Not to mention the compounding effects that would occur when combinations of adaptogens are taken. That's like saying that taking 30mg of caffeine, 5mg of amphetamine, and 5mg of ephedrine together won't do anything because each one is underdosed.

Part of the problem I have is that I don’t know what ingredients to use or what I want to achieve, I just know for a fact that my diet is crap and due to multiple personal factors that I definitely need to work on, I want something that helps me as a good baseline even if not perfect. I don’t care about it being expensive as long as I don’t have to worry / think about it and it’s time effective. I lived off Soylent for over two years a few years back and eventually my body started not to be happy about it, I’m not looking for a meal replacement necessarily anymore (although not against it either) but rather knowing that I’m giving my body enough to be in an ok-ish state even if most of the time I eat crap (which I’m also trying to change).

Definitely try eating fresh fruit and veggies in your daily diet and some nuts, seeds and pulses. A good multivitamin and mineral supplement should bridge any gaps at a fraction of the price of these green powers. Helping your health and your wallet at the same time 👍

Kind of dissapointed that you shit on ag1 but provide no alternative at all besides "eat more whole foods" ok sure but people are looking for convenience and even if ag1 isnt everything its better than nothing because lets be honest most people are NOT going to keep up a whole foods diet or a host of single vitamin pills. but they CAN keep up with a scoop of powder a day. So if you dont have any alternative my reccomendation is that people keep using AG1 if they want because doing something consistently is better than doing the best thing infrequently.

Problem solver. Not worth it due to the cost. Eat more fruits (any fruit. Like, 1. And a potato) and take a multivitamin, save $$$$$$.
For the "I have a balanced diet" crowd. Don't buy this silly powder. You don't need it. But, if you still feel like pissing away money, literally, also take a multivitamin. Your urine will be full bodied.
