FPV Drone Racing Aerial Grand Prix Yorkshire

  • Today I took the train up to Luddendenfoot in Yorkshire to participate in the first ever Aerial Grand Prix Yorkshire FPV Drone Racing Competition. I came second, won some motors and speed controllers, had a great day!
    Specs:
    Quadcopter Frame - TwitchFrames 250 Quad
    Flight Controller - Naze32 Acro with Cleanflight
    Motors - THuG 2204 2300kv
    Propellers - 5045 GF props
    ESCs - DYS BL20A Running BLHeli 13.0 with Damped Light and Oneshot
    Battery - Turnigy Nano-Tech 4S 1300mah 45-90c
    FPV - Fatshark Dominator v2 FPV Goggles, 25mw FT951 5.8ghz Transmitter with Spironet Antennas
    Recording Camera - GoPro Hero 4 Black

      It was a great course actually, had some fast bits but you had to be careful in the corner with the tight turns!

      +Niall Woodward Cool. How does it affect the weight of the drone. Would it slow it down for actual races?

      +Philip Wainman It is definitely more sluggish, and slower to accelerate. Makes corners wider, and so overall does increase the lap times :)
