Are collecting 2 collect or collecting 2 spec. Case in point. I only buy the covers and comics I like. So Spawn always. Joker. Venom and Harley Quinn. Like I missed out on Thor 1 with Jane. Bk that’s not my Thor. Also I don’t like thor. Just him in MCU. And Kira is an academy award winner. Hmm. Only Dc movies have an actors take win. Rip. Heath. (Not my joker.). But I dig it. My jokers are. Jack, Luke, Romero, and…. Any Timm Brucy!!!!
I both love/hate variants. Some of the covers are so amazing and you want nothing more than to get them, however, EVERY issue does not need multiple variants. There are many times that it is WAY out of hand, and other times that it makes sense. THANKS JAMES!

I have that ultimate fall out variant and I’m sending it out to get it graded next week….can’t believe I bought it from midtown comics for 10 dollars when it came out and now it’s going 15 thousand or so….hope I get a good grade!

Midtown was good back in the day before they changed there website now its all confusing .... they used to send there ratio vatiants in top loaders which was cool ,, every variant i got from Midtown came back a 9.8

I never used to be one for variants. But they are making some awesome ones now. I bought way too many Venom #200 variants.
I STILL hate variants but these might be the exception not the rule haha
I got the Nabisco Wolverine in 2008 for about $175. It's slabbed at 9.4, but has never been cleaned and pressed. I think I'm gonna crack it for clean and press and get it signed by Sienkiewicz.
I got the UF4 1:25 when it first came out. Finally got it cleaned, pressed, and slabbed. Pulled a 9.4. Pretty happy.
I get a lot of variants, but it's either an artist I love, if it's a key, or if I'm trying to get a complete set. I'm blown away by the hype on later printings, because when I started collecting in the 90s, later printings were considered trash

I❤️Variants!! My favorite on your list is Wolverine 145! I just picked up a Moon Knight 7th series number 1 variant where it has a head shot of Moon Knight and the word Schizophrenic on it! Hope that one makes your list in the future! It’s the 1st time I ever saw this cover!

I love varient covers! It just can be a slippery slope imo as a new collector. But I always do collect alex ross or del otto varients whenever I can from my LCS. Those vampirella covers look fantastic too! The ltd 50 and 100 ones have kind of a J Scott Campbell vibe to them! Fantastic covers :)

One of the best recent variants has got to be Warren Louw's Wonder Woman Black and Gold #1. The expression on her face is classic. I can see that one climbing in value but not that kind of crazy numbers. It's print run is much higher.
Nice vid. Thanks for the info. I don’t chase after too many variants myself. I do like certain artists though. I like the Adam Hughes Supergirl cover. The Venomized Hulk statue was very good too.

When I recently got back into comics, I had no idea what people meant by variants. I used to think variants were bit too much, although there sure is a lot at great artwork that otherwise might not be showcased on covers. I guess they aren’t that bad after all! Great vids! Cheers!
Awesome list. Amazing Spider-Man 678 is my favorite book on the list. I have been chasing the book for years. The Wolverine 1 is another book I want very badly. The prices on some of these books is truly out of this world. Awesome job on the video!

Was surprised Batman 679 Tony Daniel’s variant Zur-EN-ARRH didn’t make the list. Variants allow Artist to show there talents off
I get that a lot of variants won’t get this high, but all you need is to get just one that might get there one day. I’ll spec on variants on comics that I like, which are most on this list, and then enjoy them for a bit, put them away and check maybe in a year or so. I’ll order the more rare ones from my local shop every now and then.

If I ever buy variants it's usually because I'm a huge fan of the series. I rarely but any comic for the resell value I do it for the love the craft

I collect J Scott Campbell's stuff and will have all of the books you featured one day. Only have the Superior Spider-Man 20 variant now.
It's crazy how much these variants can be worth over cover A. My first exposure to a modern one was War of Realms: New Agents of Atlas - Mico Sauyan variant that has shows the first Filipina superhero with the Philippino flag in the background.

I only have one of those (the Supergirl and Legion of Super Heroes #23....and have it signed by Kitson, who was the artist in the book).....and kinda have another one (I have Campbell's Uncanny X-Men 510, but not that virgin variant...just his regular variant, which I had him sign and got graded at a 9.6, still goes for 230 unsigned in that condition)......great list.....just crazy....but for every one of those, just 15-20 that go down pretty quickly.

I have a third print copy of Sage issue 1 signed by Staples. Got a bunch of stuff signed by her at a Denver con in like 2016.
