- On July 10, 2014, Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue Centre staff were alerted to a young false killer whale in distress near Tofino's North Chesterman beach. As Canada's only team of professional rescue staff readily available to save stranded cetaceans, our staff were brought in from Vancouver to save the stranded whale.

@@REPULSlVECONVULSIVE Someone contaminated the water. Fortunately they were able to save Helen, but it still killed Chester and another Porpoise in the park.
