Thanks for all the tips I’m 14 and loving pole fishing right now the elastic was Dura slip hybrid size 11. My personal fave elastic is size 13 dura slip as I’ve caught loads of good sized fisheys on it 😁

Been a river angler since the 1970’s till last year then in June had a stroke and stopped fishing. Now after watching this video I’m going to get pole a do fishing again.
Go on the Thomas's! Absolutely brilliant again Andy. That elastic is Dura Slip Hybrid Elastic size 11. This package would be ideal for me at my local club down in Cornwall as younger members have limited access to fishing opportunities for free in this area. This means I can use it when teaching the younger members how to pole fish due to the sturdiness, hopefully will send you guys photos with them enjoying it. Fingers crossed 😁🤞

Hi to all concerned in the making of this helpful video , well done Preston 👏🏻👏🏻 , I am very much entry level in my pole angling , I have always been waggler and feeder but to enhance my match fishing which I have started this season I have bought a pole off my mate and I am trying my best to get my head around the art of pole fishing , the beginners guide was brilliant , Andy may has me in stitches with his humour ooooshhhh cheeky and he is a genuinely nice guy and I have met him at partridge lakes fisheries where he even offered me advice on my feeder fishing which I thought was ace tbf , so keep it going Andy and keep slapping your tip lad ooooooosshhhh cheeky 🤣🤣🤣

Hi Andy, great video, we need more videos like this to get people into fishing as people don’t know where to start to get into the sport on the right foot so they enjoy it and catch fish. The competition answer is No11 dura slip.
I only pole fish occasionally and realised after this I have been doing so much wrong. Having the roller to one side so important. And that advice about sitting position, pole across both legs, as a pole novice I have never heard anyone explaining that before. Sitting comfortably will make a huge difference be more efficient and less tiring. Excellent tip about re elastic sting using the existing old stuff to make it much easier. Loved it!

Great video, fished years ago with my dad. Had a few times when I have had a halfhearted restart but with the kids older want to get in to it properly. Pole fishing novice but now feel like I can go out with confidence thanks to this brilliant tutorial.😊

Really useful as I’ve just got my first 8.5m margin pole. I was confused about the “middle leg” until I realised it was the box’s leg… not an unmentionable part of Andy’s anatomy!

New too pole fishing been practicing on my local canal for a month. Some great advice here the best advice I learnt the hard way was leaving my pole on the floor and not on a roller and holder. My 4 y.o son was whip fishing near me and ended up falling in so as I got up to his aid I crushed my main pole 😂

Having fought against buying, owning or fishing with a pole since 1982 (My dad always thought it was cheating), I think you've just convinced me to try it out and get my first pole EVER. Will take your advice and get a Margin Pole but I'll wait until the comp is finished first as I might win one instead of having to buy it.
