I like the way Melton's only platform is numbered. Reassuringly it's 1.
Excellent 👍
Yes, it was double track all the way to Lowestoft from Ipswich and was also the main through route from London Liverpool Street.
Halesworth has moving platform/crossing gates seen at 40:03, that are Grade 2 listed.
Lovely ride through the summer - but not the same without sound
@msparry1 I am just starting to get to grips with a sound edit to remove voices so i might be able to go back to my old videos and add sound
@@AngliaCabRides-vv5ck Just loop a bit of train sound. Anything will do!
@@bertspeggly4428 I am hoping that I will be able to rerecord this route in the near future as the original footage is corrupt and unusable
When was this filmed?
It was 31July2022
sorry it was 30July2022 when I was able to record this as the strike was on so we was able to get the tamper over it
@@AngliaCabRides-vv5ck ahh Fer enough thanks for the response
No sound?
Unfortunately not I have switched it off. I don't think my colourful northern language should be played
Plese add sound in future. Happy to risk your colourful Northern voice.@@AngliaCabRides-vv5ck
@@raysmith114 I will see what I can do for the next one I make
@@AngliaCabRides-vv5ck I use You Tube Audio Library for my music beds. It's free.
Was this line once double track? Just discovered your channel and have subscribed. As a suggestion, please place a brief history of the line including locations of disused stations and former junctions. Greetings from Australia.
I think so given the width of the track bed and bridges
It was, I had a great book on the line that went through all the stations, some now closed, think it was singled in the 1980's
I confess that I know nothing about locomotive driving so I wonder why one is given permission to pass a signal at danger, wouldn't it have been better to change the signal?
Hi @tango6nf477 not necessarily it was actually good practice for me that day as I was route learning the route and when there is a possession there we sometimes enter it by passing a signal at danger and proceeding up to the protection for the possession or to proceed over signal box controlled level crossings in possessions like the ones there
@@AngliaCabRides-vv5ck thanks for taking the time to answer.
Shit no sound yet again
@2010ColinF the Video I am currently editing will have sound and hopefully all my videos from now on will do as well
