Sheesh, all it took was 1 early kill and suddenly Gen G's macro just accelerates faster than a speeding train. KT fought hard to get kills in game 1 but it never mattered at all. Imagine being able to win the entire game just because your macro is just that much stronger than your opponent.

@@JasonJia11 he has the lowest VAR of anyone on the roster, you could slot in most ADCs in the top half of the LPL or LCK and the team would have the same result. I think his style wouldn’t work on a lot of teams since he’s never forced to be the playmaker on geng. He’s still good but not on the level of guma/viper/ruler/elk etc

Kiin makes a big difference for the top lane. Canyon really helped jungle gap. I wouldn't say one but if you have a good top laner and a mediocer jungler, the jungler can do the minimal and still look good.

On paper, last year's JDG should be stronger than this GENG but for some reason GENG just looks like the clear top team in the world rn while JDG last year still had T1 and GENG beside them.

JDG looked scary af last year because LPL was crazy strong, BLG was stomping anyone beside them. LNG was good too. In LCK T1 and GenG both looked clean af in spring especially GENG in summer and yet JDG never lost a bo5 until T1 outclutching them in semis. 2023 was an insane year.
2024 is quite not the same. New map, tons of new items and mechanics. New macro etc... LPL looks quite weaker, T1 in a slump and every top teams beside geng maybe looks quite weak in macro and micro. Draft is all over the place too.
