A coaches job is to get the best out of his or her players. And to do that, you have to understand that different approaches work with different people. If you have a great talent on your team, but he or she doesn't respond well to being berated or cursed out, you can call them soft, but if they don't perform well because of that, then you're not a good coach because you're not bringing the best out of them which ultimately hurts your team.

Flores wanted a QB who was gonna step in the huddle and be forceful, commanding and authoritative. Tua decided that a rookie doesn’t tell grown men what to do but instead directs and assists players who may be out of position or lined-up wrong so the play runs correctly. These are grown men who deserve respect.
Respect them and you have a better chance that they will respond positively. Come in as “I am god”and scream, demand and have a no prisoners approach and no one will want to play for you. That is why “Fitz” drew praise from Flores. Tua comes from a culture where humility and respect is expected
