I have an M-sized StS DryLite and I agree that it really sticks to the skin.

Impressively thorough review! I decided to go with Nomadix towels for our family for the greatest actual towel function and feel for the space it occupies. I have sensory issues so the sticky or snaggy feel is a major trigger for me and some of my kids. I also know my husband has little patience for something that doesn't WORK and he's a big lumberjack of a man--so I don't care how compact something is, if it doesn't perform the function it needs to perform, it's a no. I also sent my middle son to summer camp with an REI multitowel and it came back hopelessly saturated with dry grass splinters. Considering the price and the fact that it was brand new, I proceeded to spend HOURS picking the grass out with tweezers. I have relegated this towel to our camp kitchen packout box. The feel of the Nomadix was wonderful for such a thin towel and it was big enough to wrap up in. It folds down quite small for us...a 7x7x1 square. I also love that it serves as light blanket if needed AND best of all comes in so many fun designs, I was able to get a personalized look for each family member which helps my kiddos be more personally responsible as they take pride in their personal gear. I do wish it came with a zippered pouch or even just an elastic loop to pack up in.
I would be curious to hear your thoughts on the slowtide towel in comparison to some of these others. I bought one for myself as my "ultralight" towel (though I doubt it qualifies for true ultralight campers) because I like the option of a more compact towel if we need it and they had a gorgeous floral design I couldn't pass up. I have not used it in the wild, but really like the feel of it. I still need to get a "smooth" ultralight-style microfiber for the rest of the family.

And yes it's definitely super functional, and I LOVE the designs too! None of my other camping towels even come close to the Nomadix in terms of fun designs. Oh man I'm so sorry to hear about the REI towel. I had the same experience too sadly. Maybe that's why they retired the Multi Towel haha. And thanks for the heads up on the slowtide towel! I'm not actually planning to get any new towels at the moment, but I'll definitely keep it in mind for the future 😊 Oh and if you're looking for a smooth ultralight style microfiber I do have another video on the Best Backpacking towels. Maybe that's something you might be interested in 😊

I have a naturehike quick dry towel (XL size) and a Sea to Summit Tek Towel (L size). I prefer the naturehike. It glides on the skin better, it is bigger than tek towel, it is cheap and compact.

Use a shemagh. Light weight. Can pre filter water, gives shade, keeps cool with evaporation, keeps neck warm, can be used as a sling, splint, stuff sack.

@@CampingGuidance its what I use for a towel. 100% cotton so yeah its pretty absorbent. Get a real heavy weight one. They have cheapy thin ones so be careful when ordering one.

Great videos! I know its not considered a camping towel, but I bring/use Norwex towels. Im curious if you have ever tested these. They say they have "Bacloc" which is like an antimicrobial treatment or something they do.
Hey Bo Bui, thanks so much for the input! I haven't tested Norwex towels, so sorry about that. Actually some of my camping towels (like PackTowl and Matador) also have antimicrobial treatment, and I found that it makes the towel smell less for sure. The Norwex towel might have the same benefit too :)

You're welcome Ricky! I can't quite remember if I washed my towels before first use (I might not have washed a few before using them). But I highly recommend washing them before first use, as most of my towels bled quite a bit. I also recall some brands saying that towels tend to perform better after being washed the first time. Not sure if that's something you'll find useful. I'll eventually get around to camping pads, but unfortunately I'm a bit tied up now.

But that's because I love the design and size (beach size), and weight isn't a big issue for me. The Nomadix is a little heavy though (17.2oz). If that's too heavy/big for you, I'd recommend the PackTowl Luxe (10.8oz). It's more absorbent and has better odor control than the Nomadix. If that's also a bit too heavy then I'd go for the PackTowl Personal (6.5oz). Hope this helps!

Do you have a recommendation on kitchen towels for dishes and wash cloths
Hi Sonya, I'm not particular about home kitchen towels so I didn't test many of them. I can't recommend anything in particular, so sorry about that. But if you're interested, I currently use IKEA's tea towels (I think that's what they're called). They're pretty good and really affordable :)
Oh! But if you mean towels for drying dishes while camping, many of the towels in this video come in different sizes (like in hand towel sizes), so you can buy these smaller ones for drying dishes. Please feel free to let me know if you need any other info :)

very detailed and indepth review and comparison of towels. however i wanted to ask why you are you wearing mask at the beach? and advice, instead of voice over throughout the video, you shud have shots of yourself talking , revealing your face and torso. it will help give face to your channel and help build brand and following.
