This was the closing theme for a TV documentary I saw (in my teens) in which students in a classroom were asked to cover their faces and raise their hands if they had ever thought of suicide as "the way out." More than half of them raised their hands. This song thus sent the perfect closing message for this show. Thank you, Freddie, for saving so many lives - too bad you couldn't save your own. Rest in peace.
the insane thing is that there were probably more students who shared the same thoughts but didn't raise their hands in worry of people getting involved. There's mental health assessments in schools where I am and they ask similar questions and just about everyone lies on them to avoid it ever getting talked about

I had severe depression in my early 20s. I really started to think that suicide's the only way out. And after searching for videos about suicide I came across to this song of band I liked listening to.

I think Brian always had a dark, sad side, even when Freddie was alive. He was depressed while divorcing from his 1st wife.

It definitely is a killer bass line, but the part of the song that does it for me, where I start rockstarring in my own air guitar band like a serious fool 😂😂 is literally a hair after 2:25 You'll see what I mean 😄😃👍This has always been one of my favorite deep cuts from Queen and an incredibly underrated song. There will never be another Freddie Mercury 😃👍

Well, my first reaction to the chorus was... confusion. "Nobody cares"? "Nobody gives a damn"? These lyrics really stuck to me as they really contradict the song's message. So I thought "Well maybe, it's a conversation between 2 people??" But then:
Person A: Don't try suicide
Person B: Nobody's worth it
Person A: Don't try suicide
Person B: Nobody cares
Person A: Don't try suicide
Person B: Just gonna hate it
Person A: Don't try suicide
Person B: Nobody gives a damn
For me, "Nobody's worth it" and "Just gonna hate it" sends out a positive message. To elaborate further, Nobody is worth suicide and you are going to regret and hate it once you've attempted to do so. But shouldn't Person B suicidal and have negative thoughts instead of positive ones?? But then BAM it hit me. So what if we just.. take away the "Don't try suicide" ones? So:
Person A: Nobody's worth it
Person B: Nobody cares
Person A: Just gonna hate it
Person B: Nobody gives a damn
And then it becomes an actual conversation! The "Don't try suicide" ones are just there to make it a catchy and upbeat song. Well, at least in my opinion anyway.

It was a mistake and forget about it. This is coming from someone currently in therapy for strong feelings to commit suicide.
