📚 I don't have that emoji on my tablet, so here's a pile of books instead! Gorgeous spreads, and love your reviews as well, I wasn't interested in reading Les Miserables but I'm considering it now. My longest book is probably The Count of Monte Cristo, which I read in Jan/Feb this year. Over 1800 pages but an absolute treat from start to finish, I adored it. ❤

If I manage to make even 1 person read Les Mis I'll be so happy! The Count of Monte Cristo is definitely on my list. But I don't think I can read books like that back to back so fast, I'll have to wait a few months 😊

I really feel you on needing boy stickers haha🪞 I bought from journalsay a few months ago just looking to get something with guys and most of what I bought was still a mix of guys and girls. I love all the pretty girl stickers but we definitely need more cute boy stickers also!
Longest book I've read, I'm not sure but I know I've read a few long fantasy books that were more than 1000 pages so probably one of those. Definitely nothing more than 1200 pages though I think xD

Yess boys stickers pleaase! and a wide range too, not just manga style. Did you notice all the guys in romance novels have curly hair lately? Irl in spain all the boys also wear curly hair falling right on their eyes too. Must take a lot of work...that's how I know I'm old 😆

I read Les Miserables as a teenager (a long time ago!) and it has always stuck with me. It was unabridged, but only (ha) 1200 pages?! My only complaint is that I expect many puns and references did not translate well into English or cannot be understood by a non-French speaker/reader. I fully intend to pick it up again within the next couple of years! Love your spreads and analysis as always ❤ 🪞
Oh, I also recommend 'A Place of Greater Safety' by Hilary Mantel - set prior to Les Miserables during the Revolution. It's about 800 pages, so still quite long!

I saw that on other videos, and I don't really know why it's so much shorter in english...in a video, they read the first sentence and it was the 2nd chapter in my version, and I don't understand why they would abridge the very first chapter. Oh I don't think there are untranslatable puns, but the cultural context may be sometimes harder to catch from abroad or for younger readers.
Thanks for your kind comment and for the rec, I'll have to check it out!

I feel like Abby Jimenez and Emily Henry are prettier, glossier versions of the self-pub romances of the early 2010s. Less steamy scenes and prettier writing, but just as much trauma dump and characters trying to navigate that. Honestly, I don't want to read that. Been there, done that. Thank you very much.
Now, Les Mis is something I want to read someday, but I admit I'm a little intimidated by it. Your review only made me want to read it more... and be more intimidated by it! :D

I'd be so happy if even only 1 person reads it thanks to this video 🤍
Try it, you've got nothing to loose!
      And yeah, about A.Jimenez, I'm a bit wary now...🙄

🪞 🐱 Remarkable employment. I stand inclined toward, a poet. It is beautiful and poignant. I loathe politics and wealth inequality. Mess with the prison system. 🐱 🪞
    P. S. Just finished Love Life by Matthew Hussey. 🐱 🪞

Thank you! Yeah, politics is a tricky subject. I find I prefer reading historical fiction to reflect on it, and was surprised that Les Misérables tackles important and still modern difficulties so well. Do you know that V Hugo changed political opinions while writing it?
Thanks for the rec too, I'll have a look, I had never heard about it!

@bujobyfilo Gratitude for recommending contemporary readers How to solve your murder by Kristen Perrin. Accomplish not spoiler as I am reading chapter 21 tomorrow, but I believe it exists, Saxon.
“Well, I’m on my way. I’ll question Saxon, but please don’t confront him, no matter what this inheritance might make you feel you should do. He may have some other excuse-a different reason for telling Elva that story about being at an autopsy in Sandview. And then when the murder happened, he had to stick with it.”
Our storm alert provides a remarkable backdrop. ☔️⛈️
