Her relationship with her father is literally one of my favorite parts of this show.
Yes! ❤️🥰
Same
An interaction between me and my dad when I do something new.
Me too lol
😂❤I love this comment animuz
The ending of this series is so great. I love the scene when Abe realizes he should’ve encouraged Midge to pursue her dreams instead of having a family even though that’s not what was considered socially acceptable when she was growing up. Self-reflecting king 💯😔✊
Loved how Abe wanted her to study something practical. As if wanting her to have a secure future that would not be dependent on her husband. And this is after he initially freaked out and wanted midge to be with a dependable man or atleast get back with Joel.
It makes sense! After all, if she wasn't going to choose a practical degree and be able to earn that independent future, then it stands to reason that the fall-back would be that she needs to be with a dependable man.
Wow so ahead of her time, not like every city women was doing this as well in greater variety and effort.
I love this show. Every character is good but I absolutely love Tony Shaloub
This literally my parents when I got my 1st job as a teenager
Same here but then my dad held a celebration after my first day and I was like what is going on
Yes, literally
Abe and Midge are the best father-daughter duo. Can't wait for the new season in April!
“I told you to study something practical in college! Russian Literature was not that thing!”
This is the most dad thing ever 😅😂
My dad tried his best to make sure I don't amount to anything in life just so I'll stay at home and take care of them when they are old and be dependent on him financially.
Having a dad like this would have saved me from so many struggles for sure.
Did you prove him wrong and not have to depend on him ?
Ps. Sorry if it's a personal question
I love her father ...
I can't wait for the new season. I love this show.
I literally love they're dynamic
this entire exchange feels so wes anderson! we stan Abe Weissman in this household
This show always had great dialogue and timing ❤❤
This is exactly how my dad acts when I tell him I'm doing anything, even to this day - I'm 41. He once asked my boss why she hired me, that was back in my college days.
This seems so weird as I imagine it as Adrian Monk asking these and it feels like he should be the being asked these questions
Or the pawn shop owner from Men in Black
Best comedy series ever 🔥🔥🔥🔥 and the elegance with the clothing 🎉. I do6know why it took me so long to watch it
Sounds like a concerned father
I like how they showed the concerned father without it sounding like he was telling her what to do. He was just checking in to see that she had all her bases covered. Her answers told him she was prepared and his "okay" told her that he was proud of her.
Up there with I love Lucy, Seinfeld, Mary Tyler Moore …. Great writing, cast , costumes, actors…sublime perfection!
He was so concerned for her, it's adorable
Idk the movie but he seems caring and concerned and he didn't speak meanly to her.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
It's not a movie its a tv show, the marvelous mrs maisel
abe is definitely a sweetheart! I absolutely recommend the show :))
Every Daughter that talk to her father 😂
I'm loving the "Okay" lol
Love Tony Shaloub ❤
Tony shaloub one of the king comedic actors
This sounded like my mom when I got my first job 😂
I loved him in Galaxy Quest
I absolutely love Mrs. Maisel! 💖💖
"Studying something practical" bugs me every time. I study music and I absolutely love it, but I'm constantly anxious about how's that gonna help me pay my bills in future 😂. Still can't quit music though)
Go ahead. I wanted to study Writing but decided to get a degree in something "practical." I've never used it, and went on to be fairly successful anyway. The big surprises when joining the work force were how often people don't use their degrees and how often employers don't care what your degree was in. I spent 20+ years in Banking working alongside people with degrees in physical education, music, and languages.
I lov Abe! He’s my favorite character
Oh my goodness my mom told me some similar stuff in 1987. I went to college anyway and am about to retire at 55.
Oh my god do I love this show! Oh my god, am I going to miss the show? Oh my God I can't wait until April 14th for the premiere of the season 5 of the show
This is my dad when I got my first job, he was scared for me since I did not grew up with literal skills aside from being at home and studying
'you have no resume, except your college degree, that was impractical, but you were hired?'
I love this show! I also loved him in Monk. That was such a great show too!
Is there going to be another season of the show cuz I miss it
The final season comes out next month!
I wish my dad had been like Tony.❤ The Russian Literature just complicated my life😂
I love this scene
OKAY
5 times replay make me feel Okay😁
If only it were that easy to get a job.
I wanna do that someday surprise my parents into a repeated shock
Monk is the best.

Women couldn't even have bank accounts until 1974-75
I mean this show was set in the sixties and they did a lot of research. I don't know much on the subject so feel free to correct me, but maybe it was different in New York?
@@wasabisniffles it wasn't. According to google the show takes place in 1958, women were legally allowed to have a bank account starting in the 60s (can't find a specific year) but nearly all banks would not allow it or would require a husband to sign off on it. Banks were only required to allow women to open bank accounts in the US in 1974, it wasn't until 1975 in the UK.
It feels like he’s still playing monk
