My old pastor told me this that I think really drives the truth about salvation home: The Christian Life is Impossible, the quicker you realize that, the more your faith in and reliance on Christ will grow.
I love that Macarthur shared that it isn't perfect...we don't love Him as we should.. I think that is where a lot of us stumble..."I didn't read my Bible today" etc.
Just because someone stumbles and falls, doesn’t mean they have lost their way.
That’s exactly why we find our assurance not in OUR OWN obedience but in the active AND passive obedience of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It’s out of the Gospel that we find our power and motivation to obey. Out of the freedom and assurance we have in Him we then seek to obey not FOR a right standing with God but FROM a salvation already received and secure.

I'm so grateful for God's amazing grace and unmerited rich mercy in saving me. Ephesians 1:13 states that believers are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, and that promise from God who cannot lie is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I am definitely saved. I went through a terrible divorce and it was rough, but I knew the Lord was with me. And this actually made me stronger leaning on the Lord, and He sent me a Christian counselor who continuously poured into me and pointed me towards Jesus. And my desire (now six years later) is to please Him every day and look for new opportunities to talk to others about Him.

I know I'm saved and secured and like Noah in the ark, the Ark was a type of Jesus as we have safety IN HIM ! As Noah and his family WERE IN the ark. I have backslid and been taken to the Holy Spirit woodshed for a good spanking, but through that spanking, so bad I seeked death and lost everything, came a stronger faith as the spanking taught me things I could never have learned any other way. I walk in a better level of obedience and see God's divine provision and I seek to share the Gospel more and more as I see people as either saved or lost, and IF they are lost, it would break my heart to not share Christ with them. And as pastor John said, I have new affections since being saved and strive to get better until I meet my Lord Jesus face to face. It is Jesus that hold onto me and even when my grip is weak, it is Christ and Christ alone that holds onto me and I cannot thank Him enough.
its not up to us to be saved but its up to HIM. We don't decide if we believe and accept Christ, but its Christ who choose us to be saved. Its His grace not our decision.

Salvation comes from faith, not by works, lest any man should boast. Once saved always saved. People think just because there are unsaved people that believe their saved then go on to live horrible sinful lives and proclaim and believe they're saved doesn't mean they're saved. Faith in Christ is what brings Salvation. That's why on judgement day many will say we cast out demons in your name etc and Jesus Christ will say, depart from me, I never knew you
So many people just lie about things. You can only study the and let the holy spirit lead you

@@computerguy1724 I'm no scholar & iam always learning too, so I may be wrong, but the way I understand it is before the great tribulation, if we refuse to believe Jesus is the Christ and His deity and His work on the cross & resurrection, & that were saved by grace, then God will blot them out of the book of Life, during the great tribulation, which seems to be very close, once the mark of the beast is introduced, if one takes that mark, their faith & works do not count, those who take the mark will be blotted out of the book of life & spend eternity in hell. I hope that helps
@@computerguy1724 we are all in the book of life, God wishes that no man shall perish, but that all will be saved, however, salvation is a choice. When we sin those 2 unforgivable sins I just mentioned, God then blots us out of the book of life

I think the doubt comes from knowing how terrible we are and dwelling on that a bit too long. You tend to beat yourself up like the tax collector beating his chest not even able to look up, and get your eyes off of Jesus and what He's done for us all.

I needed to hear this. Thank you. I have been told by pators that we are to work out our salvation and that yes we can lose our salvation. It never made sense to me.
Nothing will separate us from the love of God
Our fruit comes once we are saved. Fruit don’t come before salvation! We are to strive to be perfect for Jesus is perfect but we won’t reach perfection until Jesus comes and takes us home! But we are to not practice sin! We are to keep our bodies in check and the only way is through God’s word!

@@JordanRiley because I reach out to everyone on here hoping someone would help me and it seems s I get ignored and not really helped I’m alone I have no friends i don’t know any born again Christians I bought 2 bibles The ESV and the NIV BIBLE I did buy the KJV but returned it I have a leaning disability I have a hard time understanding and comprehending what I read. I listen to the Bible and I read it. I’ve been trying to get closer to Jesus for about six months now and I’m so lost and confused. I want to be baptized ASAP but some one just told me I can’t be baptized in water, I don’t understand any of this, but I do believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior I know God gave his only begotten son for our sins I want to know everything And do you have to belong to a church to be baptized? I can’t even find a church in my area. I don’t know where to turn but I know I severely need some help here. Please I’m so lost please pray for me to find me way

I really appreciate this video Jordan. And your ministry as well. This is a question that has plagued me for a long while, and I feel like I have full assurance now, that I'll be going to hell and will not be raised up on the last day. I'm a consistent backslider, meaning someone that clearly as not been renewed in mind, not obedient.
I do mean this in all sincerity thank you for your video.
I first started in a "Non-denomination/pentecostal" kind of church, they mingled a lot among other churches, first I was introduced to the "laying of hands, lights out, music flowing" ministries.
Then before the baptism class was given, and in the teaching was on the secret societies, emblems and taught to speak tongues. Which in my city where I lived where two homes that the individuals practiced witch craft.
Until I met online these godly man John MaCarthur, Steven Lawson, Martyn Lloyd Jones, Charles Spurgeon. Among others and read my bible more correctly instead of zooming through the "read your Bible in a year".
I'm glad and can say God has been very merciful and loving kindness, instead of being zapped off this earth for myfoolish ways.

There are so many people who believe they can be saved but live like hell and get into the kingdom! Jesus says no murders, liars, theifs , whoremongers will entree into the kingdom
While it’s not recommended, the simple fact is that, yes, a person CAN live like “hell” and go to heaven. Why? Because salvation is a free gift from God and we are saved by God’s grace. Once a person is saved, ALL of his sin is forgiven. This includes all future sins that he will commit. You cannot go to hell if all of your sins are paid for. Like I said, it’s not God’s will that we live in sin, but we cannot lose salvation, otherwise it really wasn’t a free gift and it wasn’t eternal. The individual will be chastised here in this life and will have no joy in their salvation.

great video, as always! i'm sure we all have those moments where we question aspects of our salvation and wonder if we are saved, only to realize just how much of an impact Jesus has had on our lives. we have to remember that the enemy comes to seek, to kil, and to destroy everything about our relationship with the Lord and will say and do everything he can to accomplish that goal. however, we have a blessed Savior that has overcome the world and everything in it and resoundingly defeated our enemy so that when we are under attack, we can run to Jesus and He will provide guidance and a way to overcome those temptations. praise be to God and all glory unto Him! thanks Jordan for a good video i hope all will view!

How can I be assured? I trust God! He is the one that does it all, none of this depends on me, so then my faith is not my own, it is unshakeable as He is perfect in all His perfections!
He gives us the faith to believe, so if He gave it to you then it is rock solid and can't be taken away

In Mat 7, Jesus says you will recognize false prophets by their fruits, ever heard those who deny once saved, always saved say : if I can’t lose my salvation, why not just commit whatever sin I feel like? Do those sound like the fruits of a saved Christian?

Thanks Jordan. I question my own salvation because I don't obey with being sober. I stopped smoking weed but alcohol is something I struggle and I hate that I enjoy it. :( it's so hard to be sober but I know that's just an excuse. I question if I'm truly saved. I hate this flesh
I feel the same way, except mine is cigarettes. I've quit many times, only to go back to them again and again. It's a love-hate relationship that I've had for about 47 years. Every time I light up, I feel shame and wonder why that chain hasn't been broken. I read Romans 7:15-25 and feel a bit comforted, until I light the next 'coffin nail'. Praise Jesus, he knows our pain and struggles.
It's a argument with the flesh constantly! I can't stand it! I don't know if I believe in once saved always saved, 1, because the apostosy the falling away, 2, people use it as a license to sin. I've wavered on the once saved always saved for along time. Doesn't sit right. John MacArthur also walked back his comments on its not a sin to bake a cake for gays or lesbians. Doesn't sit right with me. I agree we sin and mess up but I don't know.

I know I’m eternally saved because God says I am. I don’t have to prove it to anyone. No amount of works prove that a person is saved. Otherwise, wouldn’t the burden of proof be on your works? The assurance of our salvation comes from taking God at his word, and believing the promises of God. He says you’re saved when you BELIEVE in him and what he did for you on the cross.

There is NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus. Period. We are no longer in Adam we are in Christ when we were in Adam we had all of the consequences of Adam and his actions. All sinned in Adam. BUT NOW. If you are in Christ you are joined to Him and all the consequences of Christs obedience belong to us. Adam sinned man fell all men. Jesus was obedient so all those who belong to Christ receive the blessings from Christs obedience amen. The old man Adam is dead we are dead to sin and alive to God We were in the kingdom of Adam but now we are in Christs kingdom and u cannot be taken out of Christ. Nothing can snatch us from the Fathers hand.

Why are you not sure?
Being saved does not mean you can do whatever you want. You still need the sacraments.
I was raised catholic. This false religion has over a hundred false doctrines. I.E. call no man father except your Heavenly Father. Praying to anyone besides God. Forbidding men to marry. That there is a place called "purgatory. " It goes on and on. Most importantly, catholics are not taught that they must be born again in order to enter God's kingdom ( Gospel of John, chapter 3). Jesus taught repentance and belief in His Gospel, no sacraments are necessary. Just read His Word beginning with the Gospel of John. Praise the Lord!

No. If the demons believe, they wouldn’t be demons. Would they? They don’t believe. Just because you know the gospel doesn’t mean you believe it. Seems too many so called preachers and pastors want their part in salvation. Deceivers have been here forever. Man likes to complicate things that’s not supposed to be.

I stopped going to my local church. My Pastor allows all women to be called Pastor, Some including thr Pastor will speak in tongues, giving no interpretation. The band plays 35 minutes of songs. And the pastor's message doesn't fill me. The building is full of so much money it's unbelievable. Anyway that's why I feel I'm not serving my master. I read my Bible every night,. I just can't bring myself to go to this church anymore. That's my sad story.
