Zac, you did an outstanding job...Reggie's energy and memory were clearly limited but you tactfully gave him a comfortable framework for his responses and kept the pacing very smooth. Also, your great respect and affection for Reggie were impossible to miss, it was a first class effort! ...It was very bittersweet for me to watch these 3 excellent interviews with this wonderful and uniquely talented man as he was close to the end of his amazing life. Reggie had a very special talent; as he acknowledged, his musical ideas just came to him but then he delivered them with his rich, sweet phrasing that could make you swoon or raise the hair on the back of your neck...We will not see his likes ever again... RIP Reggie and thank you so much for inspiring so many of us.

Reggie is one of the greatest and most underrated guitarist ever, the man is self taught could not read music had only 1 guitar and came up with some of the greatest riffs ever recorded. Thanks for telling his story in which you did a wonderful job. It is a shame more people don't know about Reggie or for that fact any of the great session players who without their contributions there would have been no hits, yet they profited none, it was a job that they loved doing not caring about the fame. I will post this on my facebook page and urge everyone to pass it along. PS I ordered Reggie's album and it is beyond good the title fits it well, Reggie is 80 years young and still making great music and doing something he loves. Thanks again Michael

Truetone I think a Fender Deluxe Reverb is in my future, just not sure when. The opening minute or so of the first song “Coming Home to Leiper’s Fork” sells that amp to perfection. Of course the other songs sell that amp too too but the tremolo in that intro is unbelievably good to my ears.

Truetone I can’t afford a vintage model but I see the ‘65 and ‘68 reissues are available. In your opinion, which reissue is closest to what Reggie used? I am after the clean Fender tone with loads of reverb and deep tremolo. I might put a Route 66 or an OCD in front of it periodically.

    20:46....”but it’s hard to play”.
Funny how guitars are so seemingly identical, yet ask a player and they’ll tell you they’re anything but. I remember Ed King talking about the Fender he cut Sweet Home Alabama on. Said he hated that guitar. “I can listen to the track and hear myself fighting it all the way through”. I guess that’s why you can’t just order one and expect to be happy. You gotta sit with it a bit.
