Finished this up and dang! Plenty of consistent heat and the condition is truly why I understand what you paid. $40 a throw had to have made the seller happy and there are plenty of three figure records in there so you should do just fine. Hope you turn those quick and this turns into many more amazing collections for ya

I think we did alright! My sixth sense was that this was a good but no matter how ya slice it.
Great deal, I honestly thought 35-40k which is probably a median considering the scalpers out there now days with not great knowledge.
Actual sticker price was just over $23k. And we'll only profit $7k if we sell it all for sticker (which is very unlikely). Still a good buy and an amazing collection fo have had the privilege to handle.
Holy SMOKES, dude! You had to pick-up this collection, if only just to make this video and show vinyl junkies like myself it's possible. Hope to catch you at the next Austin Record Convention...peace!

Ironically Lance even the records you are separating up on top of the crate is also 🔥, not Blue Note/Impulse but still solid jazz albums fun stories too and congratulations on not getting murdered lol

More well known mainstream 60's-70's Jazz in nice shape seems to sell well, at the moment. Although 16k seems excessive, if I spent that much I'd be wanting a market value of 40-50k and there were quite a few 'dollar' records there. Hard to say without looking at the pressings, condition.......if you paid too much or not.
I think we probably paid too much, but ya know…so it goes! Had to take a chance.

If you can get 20-25k back and entice those fond of these early Jazz efforts to purchase others at the store probably just about an ok deal. An online dealer I know often spends 100$ on a vinyl he then sells on for 150$. Sounds crazy, but if you think about it after costs he's making about 35$ profit, or in effect getting 35$ for one hrs work, which is about how long these more 'higher end' vinyls take to grade, list, clean, discuss with the buyer/s, etc. He's come unstuck a few times spending 1k on a vinyl he thinks he can sell for 1.5-2k one day, the demand falls, it was overgraded, others show up on the market for 700$, etc etc. But part of the fun of this is taking risks, for me at least.
