This is actually one of the better videos on discipline I've watched, and I've watched a bunch. Instead of just rambling free form, you structured it and presented it very nicely, visuals were top notch and I think I took away some valuable points from it. Please make more such videos on similar topics of achievement, success, fullfilment, happiness, spiritual strength, mental toughness and so on.
Discipline is what men who don't understand physical efficiency algorythms do when they place money above health.

Done. Thank you!
Discipline is also a form of self-love!
Totally!

Love this.
Please explain more. Thanks
@@nguyenbang4942 you postpone temporary pleasures for permanent happiness by disciplining yourself that leads to achieving your goals. Your state of being will change with a new course of life. Isn't it self-love?
I didn’t have discipline growing up. I wasent forced to brush my teeth, I wasent grounded, I wasent forced to eat veggies and fruit. I wasent forced to clean. It’s brutal. I’ve just been going off motivation. My mom recently passed and I don’t have anyone else so that hit hard for me. I’ve realized I’m the only one to change anything. I’m working on my discipline and so far I’ve only started with working out. I’m down 75lbs in a year and I’m still doing but but it’s a lot slower now. I just need to go ahead and do everything else to catch up and once I start I believe I’ll be unstoppable. I just wish I grew up like this so my mom could see I’m not such a disappointment so she could be proud.
Fantastic, brother. Well done on losing the weight.
Parents are often afraid of instilling discipline in their children because they think their kids will grow to resent them. I believe it's better to have children who resent you, but who are prepared to cope with the realities of the world, than to have children who love you, but are useless to society.
I'm psyched to hear you've taken control of your life, brother. Keep it up.
Bro, i have no doubt your mum would only ever see you with love and pride. Please don't be so hard on yourself, you will become unstoppable
Man I grew up the same way. No discipline at all and it is so hard to learn it as an adult. Wish you all the best. God bless.
I'm a mother and I'm really proud of you I wish I could lose all that weight it's such an achievement.your mother would be super proud of you and your going in the right direction that the main thing stay strong🌈🌈🌈
Hey I have the same story no discipline growing up. It was a drag learning how to hold a job/ place/ wife when I was in my mid 20s because I never learned responsibility I learned the opposite drugs partying reckless living but 10 years later I am another person a lot of credit to Jesus coz I put my eggs in his basket but also put in work to get my act together church helped me a lot
Motivation brings you high so when it runs out you crash. Discipline keeps you grounded through the highs and lows.
Great vid!
Exactly.
Thanks for checking out the video! Glad you liked it.
As a man that didn't grow up with any male role models, i really appreciate videos like these. Thank you for the framework and wisdom
My pleasure, Sunny. Glad I can be helpful!
Inspirational!
Yup, bro! I see Anthony as my brother. Thank you very much!
Human models might be an awaking experience.
Having no male role model is porbably the biggest handicap in life, and I’m the same way.
I have watched hundreds of videos and read countless books about motivation and sometime last year I sort of just hit a wall. Nothing seemed to be seeping through and helping me make lasting positive change. Only fits and starts here and there. Then I was finally diagnosed with ADHD at 50. Honestly, after somewhat unsuccessfully trying to address that issue I had sort of settled into “this is just how I am” and making the positive changes necessary to ever accomplish anything lasting and real was simply not in the cards for me in this life.
Then I found your channel. Now I am starting to believe I can do it. Thank you.
Hells yeah! I'm psyched to hear you're finding so much value in the channel. So happy for ya!
I think a strong helper instilled since being a kid was the idea that if something has to be done there is no decision. Getting rid of the decision process altogether and knowing you just have to do it, so just do it, made 90% of decisions non-factors. :)
That's a powerful mind shift right there.
Outstanding! That +1 framework is a game changer for me… imagining having to choose to actually step backwards from your goal is horrific compared to just thinking it’ll be ok to do it tomorrow. 👍
100% It changed SO much for me.
Same here, so simple yet so elegant
I agree!!! That was such an eye opener, like nothing I've ever heard before. Once we take 20 steps back with 20 negative decisions, we would then have to take 20 positive steps forward, with 20 good decisions, just to be at the same place we started before our downward trajectory. THAT is why we feel hopeless, like we are not going anywhere and like it's pointless to even try. This actually blew my mind. This is why it feels like we are stuck, or not moving. If we go back and forth between + and - decisions, then we will really feel stuck, because ultimately we aren't moving. It will then feel like our goal is so far away that it's unobtainable.
Or, a person can take very big steps to move forward faster, but it's hard to do that. Taking the big steps can lead to us being overwhelmed and quitting. Anthony pointed that out as well.
I will never look at a decision in the same way again.
When you said: "Brush your teeth"... You got me. You got me into tears. It's me. Still getting out from a burn out adn sometime I'm still asking myself things that I find stupid. But they're not.
Hits hard when you realize YOU are the reason you're living in hell... Plus side is... YOU can also be the one to change it.
@@AnthonyVicino ya been living that hell wanted to end it taking my life seemed like the only way... trying to claw back and start to get that ball rolling agian in the +1 rather then the -1s thanks for the info. its giving me hope..
@@brandonquinn887congratulations on finding your why again brother, keep going! You can do this. I understand I was in the same situation about a year ago.
I love that you put a quote from Goethe in there. I actually live in Weimar, Germany. The exact city he lived in.
That's awesome! Love me some Goethe.
Oh I love the idea of the +1 framework!
Also, I can confirm that the "Become the master and the slave" theory works and that it works very well (if you discipline yourself to do it daily). The only thing I do differently to emotionally detach myself from the activities that need to be done tomorrow is that I don't think of my tomorrow's self as myself. When I started practicing this I wrote a note for my future selves that summarizes this thinking... "You only live today. That's it. Tomorrow? That's not you, that's tomorrow's Jacob. Your time to do something is today. Do the best you can to move closer to your goals and help tomorrow's Jacob to do the same." It helps me with being grateful to my yesterday's me for doing the decision-making for me and motivates me to do the same for my tomorrow's me. It also helps with actually trying my best to follow the plan I have for the day.
(Btw I didn't come up with this "one day-one life" way of thinking, Seneca did.)
Same. i'm not sure where I got this particular framework, but Seneca seems a very likely influence.
I used to say that my only job is to live my day in a way that Future-Anthony doesn't look back at Past-Anthony and want to kick his ass!

Great work Anthony
That would be pretty incredible. Hope we can make it happen!
Hi, I am 70 years old and have just discovered your videos. They are wonderful. Same as many others here, grew up with no given direction, advice, or discipline. I have all the negative habits, thought processes you speak about. Your words will be helpful to me. Now, you are an excellent speaker! I am curious if you are reading your script, which you don't appear to be doing, or did you memorize what you would say in this video, OR are you speaking just off the top of your head from all the knowledge you've gained from experience ?? Also thank you for answering people here. Your advice is encouraging and it's encouraging to know you have been heard !! A large number of people don't answer. Thanks !
I'm so glad to hear you've found the videos useful!
On these videos, I'm reading from a script.
On my other channel (czcams.com/users/amplifiedimpact), I speak off the top of my head.
As dopamine addicted person doing art it's quite hard to change mindset from "What will be more fun" to "What will be more profitable". I am already know that fun is everywhere, you just need to keep walking. But that milestones +/- 1 metaphor is good. Never had that thought, and I see how it can affect my way further. Thanks =)
Hope it helps ya, Victor! It's a nifty little framework that's served me well.
Some of the best content on CZcams. No BS. This guy gets it and wants us to be the best person possible. I will be signing up for the newsletter. Can't wait to see what the future holds. Thank you Anthony!!!
Psyched for the love and support, David. Thankyou!
Too much truth in one video...I will watch it over and over again🔥
Glad to hear it
Only channel I like before I watch the video. Best creator on CZcams.
Dude, that means a lot. Thank you for the love!
Summary!
The resistance, want to put things like status quo
1. Motivation and discipline
M - feels good, reward centre, short lived
D - do things in the moment, enen if you don't want
1. Treat everything you do as important (+1 framework Infront, -1 framework behind)
Does not matter how impt the decision, move front and back only
Thinking of every decision is impt (Netflix or learn)
Start small move towards greatness or away
2. Start work, does not feel about how you feel
3. Remove temptation
Intentionally design environment
4. Become the master and the salvage
Current and future me
Time block, design the perfect next day for future me
Future me just follow
5. Identify my why
Clearly understand why I should do so
Fear at the end of the life, didn't live up the potential
6. Develop daily discipline practise
Make myself do the hard thing
How to combat procrastinating
1. Become aware that I'm delaying
Intentional Maintenance: random alarm + what's my outcome
2. Reclaim my intention
- reconnect why I need to do
3. What I need to do (win the game)
Objective, set tiny goal
Object at rest will stay at rest, use smallest energy to get the ball start rolling
Give myself lesser time (by the end of the hour)
4. Just get started
Momentum, any forward motion will put Issac newton with me
You rock! Thanks for this, brother.
I am standing at crossroads right now, and stumbling upon your video seems weirdly aligned with what I need to hear - ESPECIALLY the part about not listening to one's self. I went through countless schedules, alarms, planning, diaries, and virtually anything I could... apart from actually doing the thing. Big thank you.
Wonderful! Super psyched it was helpful.
Checking in with you, how has the last 12 days been?
To master Discipline, you must first conquer self-control 🙏.
100%
@@AnthonyVicino is self control and discipline the same thing?
This is a fantastic video! Passing this on to my sons. Also, you come off as very personable and an "everyman" type of guy, which is refreshing given that most of the manosphere or self-help sphere or whatever you wanna call it is a bunch of outliers pretending to be average joes or simply posers. Lots of continued success to you, man
I appreciate the love, brother. Hope your sons find the video valuable!
Banger video man. Happy to see your channel growing.
Thanks, brother!
This video is so very good
And I love your honesty about your years of struggling to do the things you should be doing
You rock, Sanjay. Much appreciated!!
The Nietzche quote is pure GOLD! So true, regardless of how you feel about the man himself.
Even shitty humans occasionally say things worth hearing.
Very true@@AnthonyVicino
Your content is so well put out in every video. Absolutely contained, short and to the point. Really practical tips and tricks. Keep up the good work.
Much love, Rakesh. Thank you for checking out the vids. Psyched you enjoyed them.
Thank you so much! Great video! Exactly what I needed to really concentrate on making my CZcams channel as good as it can be. Great edits btw!
Glad it helped!
Such a good way of explaining the concept behind these topics hats off to you
I appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed.
I've watched so many videos on discipline and this is literally the best one. I am very grateful for the work you do and the content you provide. Regarding the 6th step of overcoming resistance, what really helps me to get started is the 5 second rule by Mel Robbins.
Keep going with your work, it's really amazing.
That's SO awesome to hear, Janina! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This is such a great video, definately going to use these steps! Thank u Anthony, hope one day I can be as influencial as you are right now to me!
I hope so too, Brother!
Your presentation is excellent !! The video editing, the subtle music, your words and tone 👌
That's awesome to hear. Psyched you enjoyed the video!
Thank you so much for this. I've been struggling a lot with my health recently, and haven't been able to get myself to make the changes I know I need to make. I feel like I tried everything, but this really stuck with me. I hope I'll be able to use it well.
I'm psyched this resonated. I hope it continues to serve you n the future, Aidan.
Thanks Anthony for this value shared! Discipline is a great mental battle between doing the work and getting results. Most time we know we won't get result by sitting but we still sit because it's more comfortable.
Much love, TY Boss. Much love!
This video seems to take just about every valuable lesson I've found useful for my life since getting into solving the discipline issue and states the clearest progression framework I think I've ever heard in terms of how to achieve them step by step. Fucking blessing of a yt channel
Love hearing that, brother!
This is a break down plan of discipline I didn't know i was missing, thank you so much! I always watch atleast one motivational video a day to keep me in a constant growth mindset, I'm glad i came across your channel.
That's a great routine, Laura. Keep it up. (Thanks for checking out the video!)
Awesome session. Love the practical way you explain the matter Anthony. Made some screenshots to add to my journal😊
That's awesome, Lida. Hope those screenshots serve ya well!
One of those rare times where CZcams algo made me watch a video that led to me leaving a comment and closing the browser straight away. Thank you Anthony.
Boom! I love hearing that!

Thanks, brother. Really appreciate yuo checking out the channel, Alex.
@@AnthonyVicino I'm 24 yrs of age right now, I used to be depressed, weed addicted and had no purpose in life, had my traumas and all that but I overcame everything and now I'm super dedicated and have a self-discipline that I never thought I could have. I simply became a super-human. Your channel inspires me to continue, to keep going, it's so hard and you know that. Thank you for inspiration. Have a wonderful day and meet you at the top 1%! :)
Just came across this channel and found great advice and the way you break things down, keep it up. I've subscribed
Awesome! really psyched to have you here.
Wow thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. Seems like you figure yourself out to get the most productivity out of yourself. You're right it's not easy but it's worth it. I recently started working out again just so I can lose body fat and feel better. I also started intermittent fasting to get in better shape. The working out and the intermittent fasting was really hard the first few weeks but now the strength is going up and I'm feeling better I'm losing body weight. I'm trying to apply discipline to making money. I like what you were saying about the + 1 + -1. We do live in a world that is filled with so many distractions so hard to stay on task but I liked what you said about scheduling.. I'm a lot like you
I love hearing that, Falkor. Thanks for checking out the video. (We are definitely more alike than we are different!)
Amazing video man, thanks for the great and hard work you put on it, I know how much energy you invested to do it. Focus is my No. 1 goal and I totally agree about the fact that getting out distractions is the key to focus, it is all a mix of not wanting to start because we see the task too big for us and we procrastinate. Discipline is the key to everything, to the whole universe within ourselves, mastering it is a great adventure that I'm loving it. Sometimes the path is not linear, but the important thing is keeping the momentum alive and progress is progress, even a small amount of progress can have a huge impact to our lives.
Thanks again man! I admire you and people who put the hard work to make CZcams videos!
Thank you, Mario. I really appreciate the support and encouragement, brother. It means a lot.
Thank you, this was help you. Very nicely explained. The ingredients to becoming the ideal you and the obstacles.

i've been learning to improve myself for the past few years, videos like yours really help me when i think i'm loosing track of my progress or start to slow down. thank you for this insite, i struggle with self disipline and i'm going to use some of your structures to help push myself further. my favorite was the "become the master and the slave" planning the next day for myself so i don't have to use the mental capacity the next day and keep my productivity up. thank you again for this :)
My pleasure! Psyched to have you here.
Amazing Video, well made and inspirational. Much love
Much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you sir for sharing..youve done a great work!💪🏼I journal all you tips and strategy and will apply it in my life. Thanks!
Best of luck! Appreciate you being here.
I am subscribed. I will study your video, make notes, and prepare myself to learn discipline. I made already some steps in the right direction, like quitting drinking not so long ago (I don’t need this). My next step will be sell stuff to make space in my apartment. After years of procrastination I was buying books that I never had the time and the discipline to read. I will get rid of this stuff.
My goal is to write a book based on a PhD thesis I finished in 2015. This is 8 years ago, unbelievable! I had a burnout after this and didn’t have the discipline to go back to work.
This is what I will do tomorrow soon after having my coffee: watch the video again and make notes, prepare the stuff I want to sell, and plan my next step.
One step after the other, and every decision is important- I got it 😊
Thanks for the video, it is exactly what I need right now!
I love it! Psyched to have you here.

But do you have adhd and is that where the hyperfocus factors in? Using it as a superpower per se
That's exactly right, Ananda. I have severe ADHD and much of what I share on this channel are the lessons learned and frameworks developed that have allowed me to turn that ADHD into a superpower!
