    LOVE the look of board and batten. I want to do that in my dining room! I have a question - when you measured 15" apart for the boards, did you measure the whole wall first and then divide? And also was it 15" center to center or edge to edge? Thanks :)

    • @DIYbyNikyFoster
      @DIYbyNikyFoster  Před 2 lety +6

      Yeah this is so cool for dining rooms! Yes, I measured the wall first (mine was about 114 inches) The slats are 3.5” wide but the 15 inches apart looks the best to me space wise! BUT you can go up to 19 inches apart if that works out for your dining room space-wise. You know what I mean? 🥰

    Just a little FYI….before you use the rollers for the first time, ALWAYS use some tape on them to pull off all loose fibers. That way you won’t have fibers on your wall mixed with the paints. Thanks for your videos. I always enjoy them!❤️

    A tip to de-lint the roller is to stick a piece of painters tape to the counter or back of a chair and hold the other end in your hand. Then you roll your new roller along the tape and it takes any lint and lose fibers off the roller so it doesn't end up on your wall. Beautiful room, love your channel!

    Absolutely helpful because I want to do this wall in my dinning room. Trying to figure out what color is best for the main (top portion of) wall since my accent colors are red and gold...🤔 Also, we don't have major sunlight on this Southwest side of the house, so I prefer a bright color.
    P.S. You can use some slip resistant pads under your miter box, or a damp cloth to keep it from sliding while you saw...😊

    Hi! My mom and I LOVE this, and have two - three questions:
    (1) I saw you used a wire cutter to remove the "unmatched" board from the wall. Is it a specific wire cutter? Did you have to do anything else to remove it? We want to do this same thing but longer boards, and possibly thinner, but if we accidentally have the same problem, or don't like it in a few years, we'd like to know how to properly remove it.
    And (2) if we wanted it thinner, how would we be able to know/measure the depth--in comparison to the wall-- beforehand?

    This was really good. Do you think this would work in a foyer area? What's the difference between what you did and wainscoting? Or is there?

    • @DIYbyNikyFoster
      @DIYbyNikyFoster  Před 2 lety

      Thank you! Will DEFINITELY work in a foyer area! The difference between wainscotting and board and batten is that wainscotting is a full panel with skinny lines. This has space in between the panels. Both are textured and work nice in any space of the home! ❤️❤️❤️
