- www.craftinamerica.org. Craft in America is pleased to present a mini concert series in conjunction with the HARMONY episode. The first concert in the series features the Savoy Family Band: master accordion maker Marc Savoy; musician and author Ann Savoy; musician and producer Joel Savoy; and accordionist and multil- instrumentalist Wilson Savoy.
The Savoys are part of a long tradition of artisans and musicians who keep Cajun culture alive. They have performed and filmed a concert at Joel Savoy's home in Eunice, Louisiana. - Hudba
Beautiful family for a beautiful tradition... Heart from France
I love family bands and I love old-time Cajun music. This is the best of both.
Yeah I know family music as well but I think she's talking about too much
Pls do not delete this. Watching this is so satisfied! I am Deaf but watching the movements, it was a beautiful harmony!
Thanks so much❤️. Brings back memories of the cousins and uncle in the living room playing the oldtimey tunes. Everyone smiling with joy.
Just so nice----I love cajun music!!!!
They are happy playing this music which makes me happy too!
I watched this in April and I'm watching it again. I have become a Cajun music lover! I asked my husband for Ann's books on the subject for Christmas. Here's hoping!
I grew up in Eunice, La where they're from and I regret never making it a point to stop by the Savoy Center for one their jam sessions. I hope they live forever because once they're gone, the culture is sadly going with em.
Actually, there are many people in SW Louisiana preserving the French culture. There are French immersion schools where the children take all their instruction in French, even math. They only speak French at school. There are also many young people who play Cajun music and modern songs that are sung in French. You ought to check out the Festival Acadienne
held in Girard Park in Lafayette every year. Its several days long, and lots of fun.
Saw them perform at the Folk Festival in Lowell, MA a few years back. They are just awesome! I hope we can get them back there again soon!
wow ! i am from the state of Maine.. the Cajuns partly come from here.. no wonder i love Cajun culture so much.. the food and the music.. are so wunnerful.. nice to hear you guys play your music !
BRAVO!
Excellent on so many levels…
This is so fun! Mes Acadiens grandparents came from Quebec, originally from Nova Scotia. After learning the history of what happened there , I can understand how my grandmere never wanted to speak 'de Ingleside! Lol, we loved the sweet little lady! All 9 of her children.
Sarah really sang the heck out of the Durald Waltz!
So glad I got to hear this and hear Sarah and Gabrielle sing as I never heard Gabrielle sing, what a lovely voice. All the songs were so well done, so timeless and beautiful, truely a family in great harmony! Love the Savoy Family Band.
Always wonderful Savoy family I love them

Hello cousins! 👋 I’m a born Savoie too! ❤ thanks for sharing your music with us all! ❤
Aye Ei!!!
Anybody has the lyrics for these songs? I want to learn to sing them!! Quelqu’un a les paroles de ces chansons? J’aimerais apprendre à les chanter
I saw Joel Savoy play at the Vancouver jazz Festival a few years ago and after the show approached him and asked(in English, stupidly ) if he spoke French. He gave me an irritated look, said yes and turned away to talk to someone else. I should have asked in French, I was just star-struck and it came out like that. I've wanted to apologize ever since. My parents were French-Canadian and I grew up bilingual. I have always wanted to speak to someone from Louisiana and never had the chance until then and screwed up. From what I've seen on the 'net, the French spoken in Canada and Louisiana has more similarities than with contemporary European French. Besides, I love Cajun music.
You should not be apologizing for his rudeness!
Musicians are typically pretty arrogant and rude. Lol Don't feel bad
Bon amour...
Marc tu as maigri? ça te rajeunit! le son de Joël fait du bien à son papa.
Marc would wear a trilby hat well, like wil.
Moi j’aime beaucoup ❤
