You know if people still believe that the “pipe bomb” was real punk, the writers, and everyone involved in that segment did everything perfect. That’s what wrestling is all about. It pulls on your emotions and drags you into the story.
It was scripted then Punk went overboard and made it personal
Almost every WWE pipebomb nowadays is a worked shoot like the Miz's promo on Danielson in 2016 on Talking Smack. Only guys like Punk and Miz who can actually talk on the mic can pull that off.

Hunter gave stuff to point 👉 out. Punk added the delivery. That's why Punk always owned him and that's why they'd debate in the ring why Punk didn't get his push and what made them super stars. Hunter was just trying to make good product while Punk was airing out laundry.

What Cody said is a half truth. HHH was involved in the initial writing of the "pipebomb". However, that is not the version that aired on television. CM Punk worked with HHH as well as the writers to come up with a "acceptable" version of what he wantsd to say so that it could get passed by Vince. What many higher ups didnt know at the time is that CM Punk had a version of his own in which he went into far greater detail and far beyond the boundaries of what the first one allowed. For those who think I am making this up i encourage you to look up CM Punk talking about this exact same thing.

Love CM Punk In my personal opinion, I see him as a talented and entertaining person who is very frank about his feelings.
It makes sense. He along with Shawn Michaels were DX! Everything they did and said was rebelling against the authority which was Vince. He knows better than anyone how to play that angle.

Punk confirmed that his Pipe Bomb moment was not scripted, he gave a fake script to Vince that would get approved and when he went out, he said what he was actually going to say which if he handed that script to Vince he would have been denied lol. But they had to let Punk talk for awhile, cause if they had him come out just to get cut ff after two sentences of being not what was on the script, the show would feel like the immersion was broken. Audience would be like wtf happened? Why did Punk come out just to have his mic cut after 2 seconds and leave? So Vince had no choice BUT to let Punk free style and go off script for awhile until enough time passed where cutting him off wouldn't wreck the show.

Picture this: You've got this guy who drops a promo that everyone's talking about and gets the company attention from media sources that have ignored WWE since 2007. And finally, it's positive attention for once! You then bring HHH in to take the spotlight away from this guy with a COO storyline that went absolutely nowhere, and then the two have a match where HHH wins and nothing happens after that. Maybe it wasn't for the reasons he wanted, but believe me when I say that people were absolutely hating on HHH after that.

The WWE is never going to admit that something went out of control in their own show. They prefer to tell their audience that it was all completely scripted, otherwise, they'll look stupid and unprofessional for not having full control of their show. A promo was obviously planned, but we all know Punk, he for sure added way more than what was talked about and went very personal. We all loved it. Cody is a WWE worker, don't forget it, he's just saying what they want him to say.
When this was filmed was either right after we left WWE or while he was leaving. If it was after he left, he wasn't a WWE worker at this time, and if it was right before he was released, I doubt he'd go along with that WWE wanted him to say

His best promo during that time wasn't even the "pipe bomb", the promo he cut on the rock was way better.

Heyman says the exact opposite. He tells it as HHH and Phil worked out an outline of the angle Phil was going to work, but that the actual dialogue was all Phil and unscripted like all his work is.
Trips obviously didn’t like how far Phil took it on live tv.
Since nobody outside of AJ was closer to Phil than Paul was, I’d bank on that being the way things went down, not Cody’s tall tale that he realistically has zero firsthand knowledge of. He’s just reciting whatever HHH told him about it and we all know how full of shit Trips can be when it comes to putting himself over on things.
So you don't believe Cody had first hand account of what happened but you believe Heyman did? I'm glad you worked there to have first hand account on knowing who had first hand account in a scripted/nonscripted promo 😂

So yes, it's a lot more believable that he would have firsthand knowledge of what is being booked in promo segments than Cody, who was a mid card nobody in the company at that time and had nothing to do with booking in any way shape or form.
Heyman and Punk also have a 20 year legitimate friendship outside of wrestling.
Heyman has also said on record he knew about the pipebomb promo and the content it contained weeks ahead of time.
Those are facts. My above opinion is based on those facts.
So yes, a guy like Heyman going on record saying something is a lot more credible source to base an opinion on than a fame chaser like Cody sitting in a press conference talking out of his ass about something he was never involved in any way shape or form.
