If you picked a random citizen of a random European country & a random US citizen and compared geographical knowledge, 9 times out of 10 the European _is_ just going to fare (much) better than the US citizen, because they have considerably better [general knowledge realistically, but for the purposes of this example the only bit that matters is] knowledge of countries/continents/cities outside their own; a frightening amount of people in the US genuinely think that Mexico - one of only 2 countries bordering the US - is in South America. 🫣
