Hi everyone, I can finally tell you that this song is called "C'est Vrai" by Miles Goodman and it is a riff on "I Should Be So Lucky" by Kylie Minogue. I hope this finally answers some people's question about this catchy piece of music after all of these years. ;)
nolansplayback Yes! That's right! It was written for the movie and never released to the best of my knowledge, which is a crime it's not on the soundtrack. So far it only exists in this movie.
I could be wrong though it's listed on the soundtrack which is out of print. Some say it's not on the soundtrack at all though. Which could be true or someone would have it on here.
No the "C'est Vrai" song by Goodman sounds almost exactly like Minogue's "I Should Be So Lucky". Google "C'est Vrai / Soap Queen" and you can download the whole song from the original OST. Compare that to this track used in the movie, It's very different. The search continues!!

Glad this haunts others as well lol the kylie one so lucky has nothing on it... and the other song c'est or whatever is the slower song that comes on AFTER in the club lol good but not what we are all searching for😂
The first song that sounds like fast paced 80s was never released and was written specifically for the film unfortunately. I looked high and low for it. It is similar to "I Should be so Lucky" from 1987 yet a different song and it's not on the soundtrack which is a crime. It no longer exists accept in the movie.

Собственно аранжировка вне всякого сомнения написана Майлзом Гудманом, в этом нетрудно убедиться скачав саундтрек C'est Vrai (Soap Queen) из официального CD саундтреков к фильму. Первые 20 секунд - знакомая зажигательная аранжировка (не совсем та что в фильме но весьма похожа), остальное в треке - лирическая мелодия без такой аранжировки. Неслучайно этот трек имеет пометку на CD что в фильме он не использован. I should be so lucky Кайли Миноуг послужило одновременно и вдохновением для ритма указанной аранжировки и фоном для переработанной песни. Целиком то что в фильме/этом_ролике - это результат синтезирования на профессиональной студии. Один трек (Гудмана) наложен на другой (сильно изменённую песню Кайли, может это и её голос). Данное произведение изначально создавалось не как целое (только 2 минуты для фильма) и поэтому а также из-за возможных претензий владельцев авторских прав эта песня нигде не публиковалась отдельно. Считается, что она утеряна. Но в любом случае она в собственности кинокомпании/звукостудии/Гудмана/... которые её не опубликуют по указанным причинам. Почему так? Видимо сроки подгоняли, Гудман сваял по быстрому "нечто", что с одной стороны органично легло в фильм, с другой - больше нигде не пригодилось. Стоило конечно продюсерам пригласить певицу, заключить контракт, официально оформить запись трека... но увы.
The Kylie song "I Should Be So Lucky" doesn't sound all that much like this song. I wouldn't say she ripped this song off or anything. Her song sounds more like "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley.
What they're saying is that Miles Goodman was trying to make a similar variation _(riffing)_ on _her_ song, not that she ripped it off from _him._ This came afterward and he's acknowledged that his intent was making it a synth-y club jam type song like I Should Be So Lucky. -- _I think most of us probably agree with you that they don't sound that similar though._
