    I always look forward to your episodes. I love your format talking about finished objects and works in progress. I look up the patterns and add them to my list to purchase. I watched one of your shows and Jonna mentioned that it was ok to change our minds about plans for yarn. I am like Kim and have all of my projects in bags with the pattern set but have changed plans in the past to make something different. It always works out.! I just finished a Vanilla Sweater and starting on my Suolaulu Sweater both made of Rauma Garn Finull. I have to say that after watching your wonderful show about the Ranunculus that it is now on the top of my list to place on needle next. I am a full time working single mom, lucky enough to have my multigenerational family home so there are days when I have a break from work I can dedicate to my knitting. Knitting is my resort in my mind as well as my mountain to climb and I enjoy your excitement and passion as well.

Also, listening to Kim talk about her upcoming trip to Italy makes me want to go back there again! What a great trip that will be. Thanks for providing another enjoyable knitting chat 😉

    I purchased the knitters planner last year and I am older, no job, no kiddos etc., so I have no goals to speak of except learning a new technique. What I ended up doing was using a lot of whiteout and covering up all the goal things, dates of the week on those pages, etc. So now I have a blank canvas and I can use the boxes or other areas for what I want to track or talk about. The monthly tracker thing I use for tracking projects or packages from orders. So it's a mini view of my month. On the grid paper I usually check in a few times a month and add in notes about what I've been doing. All this to say those planners you have coming can be modified for the coming year by covering the dates on the monthly part and weekly pages. I only use one page of the grid for each month. I also purchased the binder rather than the spiral so I can move pages around. I needed a planner for everything in one spot and this is how I get full use of it. My only wish is that it came with no headers or questions to answer but keeps all the boxes and other areas. On the back of the month page are boxes - I use these for stapling my ball bands and writing what I am making with them, or dream knits. Thanks for another awesome video! I have so many patterns I want to knit now!

I traveled to NYC from Monticeto, California and one day took the train out to Mt Kisco to visit Pick Up Every Stitch (where I purchase my yarn) and meet Felicia and Karen…… and to my surprise Kim was there!!!!! Several years ago I found a spiral bound hardback notebook in the street at my workplace. I snatched it up and saw that most of the pages were clean, but "Abigail" had drawn and scribbled (mostly in purple crayon) on lots of the pages. It tickles me when I come to some of her artwork. Gee, she's probably a teenager now...wherever she is! Thanks for the knitting journal, Abigail!

    Awe! Kim, those beautiful drawings from your granddaughter make me smile. When my son was a toddler, I decided to go back to school (I'm an engineer now) but I remember so many times I'd have pages and pages of calculations and every so often I'd get this perfect little picture from him or a darling and very sloppy "I luv u mom" ALL over my paper. They always warmed my heart so much, even if it meant I had to redo pages and pages of work. He's 11 now and I still find his toddler drawings and scribbles in old books to this day. lol. Children are the absolute greatest joy. I love that you treasure their misplaced art rather than allowing it to upset you. As a grandmother, I'm sure you understand much more than I do how quickly they grow and how precious little things like that can be. Sending you both so much love from the midwest! 💛

    Kim, I've been wanting to try the Zauberballs, too. Have you seen them in Andrea Mowry's Metamorphic? It looks like the Zauberball is worked every other row, alternating with a complementary solid color yarn. Even if you don't have enough yardage for a full sweater, the concept would be cool in a yoke.

I have some Knitting for Olive pure silk I bought from PUES and keep waffling about what to knit with it. Now I'm wondering -- Cumulus Tee? Ranunculus? Droplet Cape? Hmmmm. Another wonderful, enjoyable episode, ladies! I always learn a ton. I have a question if you don't mind helping me out, Jonna... when you knit the Saturday shrug with the Paton's Worsted, did you also use a strand of mohair held together with it? I tried looking at your project notes, but it seems you used it alone? If so, did you get gauge or didn't it matter? Because of your decision to use the Paton's, I decided to knit a Saturday Shrug, too. I really like the Paton's, btw. It's a nice, bouncy, sturdy worsted that wears really well and is pretty soft to the skin. Not a bad deal for such a reasonably priced commercial yarn. It's an old Canadian company. Anyway, if you could help me out with my questions, I'd be most grateful. Oh - and because of you, I'm looking into Portuguese purling because I think it could solve another problem for me. Thank you!!! :-)

    • @KnitTogetherwithKimJonna
      @KnitTogetherwithKimJonna  Před rokem +1

      Hi Judy! I did use mohair with the Patons. I had lost the ball bands, so I didn’t put it in Ravelry. I’ll add it to the notes. I didn’t check my gauge 😳 lol!! I’ve been wearing it on these cool summer evenings, outside. I’m really happy with mine! Happy Knitting. 💕 Oh, and interested to hear about your Portuguese knitting experience. It’s really helpful for those long purl rows.

      @@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna Thank you so much! And , btw, another way that's really helpful for long purl rows - but only if the knitting is flat and there aren't any selvedge stitches or increases/decreases at the beginning or end of the row - knitting backwards. Really works and so easy to do. I'd be interested to know if you try it and what you think of the method.

    Hi,
    I love your channel!! I am curious why you both knit continental. If you would explain in an episode why you like continental over English.

    • @KnitTogetherwithKimJonna
      @KnitTogetherwithKimJonna  Před rokem +1

      Hi! Jonna learned to knit from her grandmother who knit Continental style. Also, coming from crochet, it's an easier transition to tension the yarn in your left hand.
      Kim learned to knit in German-speaking Austria where they also knit Continental. 💕 So, less of a preference and more of a "that's how we learned".
