He's not affected by brands, trends or sentimentality, the kit has a level of usefulness or it doesn't, very level headed and a breath of fresh air in these times. Brilliant!!!

You are right. He very much break it down the the essensial factors the shape the usefullness of an item. Thus managing to privide a better understanding for uss with out discussing brands.
So sad he passed awsy recenly. I wonder if his Urn ended up veing that pod he mentioned.
May he have a well earned rest!

I have the second pot he showed. I picked it up at a yard sale over 20 years ago. No brand stamp, probably Mirro. It has been in my canoe box ever since. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Amazed that nobody has ever stepped on it.

Unfortunately, the Mors Bushpot is no longer being produced. From Don Kevilus (Four Dog Stove): "I'm sorry to say Mors Pots are no longer being made and no longer available. The company in Two Rivers, WI that made them has been sold and no longer can make them." If you have one, be sure to hang on to it!!

    Mors,
Thanks for all your videos. I enjoy them much. Having seen this video about a month ago, I was able to recognize a French mess kit when I saw it in a flea market. It's a great addition to my pack. The serving dish is missing so I may fabricate one to complete the kit.

Thanks Mors! I think all pots should have bail handles! :o) If it cannot be suspended over a fire, and haul water from a hole in the ice with a nice handle, there is something wrong! I do not understand the no-handle pot gripper thing! :o) Thanks to Don K for getting these manufactured. I own one of the "Mors" pots and love it!

In the best possible sense and with all due respect Mors in this video reminds of a Jim Henson creation. Probably something with his fumbling and clanging with all the pots and the slightly too high table xD

I didn't know that a black pot takes less fuel to use. i thought the opposite as the carbon would act like an insulator. More reason to stop scrubbing them after an outing or does this only apply for anodization and not campfire carbon?

Hello Mors. Thank you for all of your videos. I've learned so much and I've only recently become aware of you. I've heard Dave Canterbury mention you several times, but I just assumed you were from the Davy Crocket era. Glad to finally found you on youtube. I'm very curious to know how you came to the conclusion that the colour black will reduce cooking time by 50%? Also, the same question for your statement on OXO and Lipton's soup mix. I hope to hear from ya. Keep up the good work.

Mors answer: Black Pot-This reference was taken from a plumbers text book written in England possibly in the 1920's. OXO in cold climates-you use your own reserves while metabolizing salty spicy.

Thank you for shareing your knowlage and wisdom. I live in the south eastern United States. I do not see the dramatic improvement in cooking time when comparing a blackened pot to a shiney pot. Are you familiar with any more scientific quantifiable testing of this premis? I am left wondering if it is more evident in the colder winter climate of the north because I do not see evidenced in testing in this area. I would like some actual cook times to compare and to know under what conditions that occurs.

Well, it's not. You can purchase pots that have been blackened on the outside for that very purpose.
