    Guys, yes, you caught him at the first couple of tricks. I'm almost certain that was intentional, because the actual big reveal of the trick is the last one, where he loads the jack into the two cut up kings. Even with the camera above him, even at 0.25x speed, even knowing the card was forced and he has extras, I don't know how he managed to stick that jack in there.

      4:26 gives it away, he didn't load the jack during the routine and 5:00 is confirmation that it's not a normal card. Still impressive, possibly even more so given the mechanics of the trick.

    • @DL-kc8fc
      @DL-kc8fc Před 3 lety +6

      These tricks are really preceded by artisanal production with a sharp scalpel, the application of clock springs and, most importantly, precise fitting. Then more than half of the success is guaranteed. Namely, this is the only method that can be used, apart from juggling with a fired card, which is not very reliable on the first try. In addition, he still applied a way of overlapping cards, as was noticeable for the first time - slippery cards and big fright. That's why Penn couldn't be fooled, and not just him. But it was original. Praise for ingenious craftsmanship is also not to be thrown away. Magicians should reconsider what they provide for the opening films, because some shots very easily determined the final evaluation.

    I think the final deck he used is actually a device that's designed to shoot a card out incredibly quickly. Either that or some sort of device from up his sleeve that shoots it out, but it seems pretty apparent from the video it's shooting from the direction of the deck based on the way it bounces around when he catches it. It's literally not there 1 frame, and the next frame its there

    He got sloppy on the second trick when he said the audience thought he might be hiding something under the two kings. When he moved them to show there was nothing underneath, one of the kings separated from the hidden Jack and you could just barely see the edge poking out. So he actually placed three cards on the table and revealed the Jack that was tucked beneath the king.

      Penn alluded to this in his code. I'm pretty sure it was almost on purpose, as he basically gives away the first 3 tricks as they're what are considered basic tricks that are in most beginner magic books. I thought it was a lot of fun, as someone who loves to study magic, to lead us on like that with some really basic tricks that were almost obviously telegraphed. Made me really lower my guard when the final trick was performed so much so that I didn't even think to watch for a method. Absolutely incredible performance if you ask me! His slights there at the end are so perfect that I'm pretty damned sure he was telegraphing on purpose in the first half of the act.
