And the importance of multiplier in prestige mode. Other YTbers easily do 50K+ with investing to the prestige level and multiplier.
On the other hand, NL is incredible unlucky with cobalt
And that Cobalt is more common near the bedrock edges than below your dome (which may just be an urban legend but it seems to bear out in my games).

Whole point of the lift is accumulating resources slowly while you go up fast because you don't have to carry anything it becomes bad when you just carry everything slowly anyway 😅

I'd like to see him try strip mining at least once instead of taking the path of least resistance then blaming the difficulty for his lack of results
Sometimes it's not even the past of least resistance, just his brain getting distracted.

@@BensMiniToons I did this, it's very satisfying. Lift + Drillbert are fantastic if you upgrade them and mine well. I still prefer teleporter to lift but the lift is good.

teleporter requires both the upgrade to teleport resources and the upgrade to teleport you again to be good. The lift passively takes up resources more efficiently than you dragging them while you're mining as long as you keep filling it up. All you need is the tractor beam speed upgrades
Teleporter is goated.
The teleporter is still better, but the lift is really, really good too.
before the nerf, teleporter could teleport resources during combat. lift halts during combat, which i believe this gameplay is pre nerf. Lift got a decent little buff.
@@i_am_ergo Teleporter is so much more expensive, because you need to get the upgrade to allow it to teleport resources first, and then its throughput is really bad. You need to then get the tp cooldown reduced for it to be good.
The lift starts out good, but its throughput is limited by the depth of the beam. Upgrading the orb speed is a high priority with the lift, but the part people sleep on is adding more orbs. That's how to increase throughput, and it's very cheap.
Lift is usually better than teleporter for moving resources. TP is best used for moving the player.

Plus he doesn't have to wait around for orbs to pick up the resources and slowly deliver them. Lift negates gravity so he can drag in 30 resources with no resistance

knowing everything will get transported? the lift transports like 3 resources over one full cycle, and also if the lift is holding the resources you can't grab those resources. the only thing good is that it makes it easier for you to carry stuff up, the lift orbs are literally worthless even with upgrades.

@@chandl34 The itch was worth scratching for me after watching NL make modern art with his tunnel for over a week. I beat it on my second run on normal despite still learning the controls and my brain just sucking in general. Drillbert is my baby now, cute and useful when you mine horizontal. I go one way, he goes the other way. And max laser erases base enemies! It's awesome! :D
Also, I now call the swarm of mini enemies "The fieldtrip to come and beat my a$$". F**k the children, they die first. XD
i bought this game yesterday and tried my hand at it, confirming it is easy to have less psycho tunnels than NL. with that said, this is absolute Pog content
Honestly? Blast Mining + Elevator seems like a cool combo. Dropping bombs down the elevator shaft almost automates vertical mining, leaving you free to focus the horizontal.
Can you have 3 gadgets? If so Drillbert could do one of the sides.
You can only have two stations in your basement, but Lift and Stun Laser don't have those so you can have them on top of any other two gadgets. Honestly their best qualities imo.

I have been waiting for NL to discover the infinite carrying tech but it seems the day would never come.
If you don't know, resource in this game has collision even while you're dragging it. So idealy, in a narrow straight tunnel , you could stack a bunch of resouces on the ground, grab a handfull in the back and pull it along. The clump in the back would stack up and pull the rest along with it while contribute no extra weight.
This combine with the elevator and branch/strip mining is the most efficient way to clear out the map since the elevator is a set it and forget it, just drag them over and continue mining while it work in the bg
I can't imagine how bad it is for people with serious OCD. Mine is mild and his mining is triggering AF.

Why? Because it doesnt take up a slot under the dome. Teleporter is without a doubt the best but it takes a slot. You could have condenser and resource converter in the dome.

A fully upgraded lift has 0 chance of paying back the investment you put into the lift, he upgraded the hell out of it his first time using it and it was complete ass still
It's not that he doesn't upgrade it, it's that he fundamentally doesn't understand how to play with itSo he just carries everything back up manually anyway
@@ShaydFrosT He repeated the 'more orbs' upgrade, with its increasing costs, multiple times, and nothing else. take that as you will.
Watch a video on it and tell me what you think. It seems on par with the teleporter and based to the center of the map without having to be carried about plus it allows you to go to the top very quickly. NL ain't always right even if he sells it as so.

The reason he hates the lift and doesn't think its good is cause he doesn't use it, instead of carrying stuff up manually he should be taking the extra time it would take him travel to do more mining and just let the lift do its thing. And also upgrading it would help a lot

@@Nowolf True, the orb upgrades should be used to keep up with the depth of the lift. The deeper it goes, the more you need to keep resource gathering consistent

Imo, the lift is good and heres why I think it is. Letting the lift actually lift is easy. You just mine resources and bring them over to the bottom quickly. This gives you more time to actually mine instead of taking 1/3 of your cycle to bring up resources. When NL says that you should still bring up items, yes you should but ONLY before the wave starts.
