  • In this short video, our very own Stuart Lawler explores the powerful JAWS for Windows screen-reader software.
JAWS (Job Access With Speech) is the world’s most popular screen reader, developed for computer users whose vision loss prevents them from seeing screen content or navigating with a mouse. JAWS provides speech and Braille output for the most popular computer applications on your PC. You will be able to navigate the Internet, write a document, read an email and create presentations from your office, remote desktop, or from home.

Wow! Recently lost the majority of my eyesight and only a week ago just got a new laptop, so this is wonderful to hear 😅

This is fantastic with one exception, for us that aren’t quite up to speed with Jaws. We do not know the key command you are pressing, to manipulate your laptop. Just a sidenote for your next video.

Is it possible to selectively use the jaws screen reader to read specific portions of the screen and not the whole screen?

I cme to this video hoping to get some guidance with using jaws only to find a person talkin about how he's using the system with no explanation of what he is doing or how he is doing it. Hey guy - I'M BLIND! Listening to you navigate the system without explanation or instruction does not help me.
