  • Today Tracey demonstrates how to create a lovely, graduated background using Distress Oxide inks, applied directly onto Multifarious card with a Brayer Roller. This makes the perfect setting for our fairy Jaylar, perched atop a quirky toadstool amongst a meadow of Bluebells and seed pods.

Tracy, you are a messy stamper... and I love it! I don't know too many really good stampers who are not a bit messy when they create. Thanks for being one of us. Oh, and I love your composition. Blue's and purples are my favorite colors.

I have an ocean-themed card I need to work on in the morning and this technique is perfect for it. Also I must have been living under a rock because I don't recall ever hearing of Lavinia Stamps. Checked out the website and can honestly say that there is not one image on the whole site I do not love. Placed an order, and know for sure where any Christmas money I receive is going. Thank you so much for sharing...

Love the card. Is there any reason why one can't do the circle first with the yellow and the shading around it then the fairy stamped on last? To me that way you wouldn't get any distortion or dilution of the black. The fairy is in the foreground so should be stamped last?
