Honestly one of the most underrated aspects of hockey. People think it's easy and that refs make bad calls when it reality you have a split second to make a decision and we get to watch the replay from 5 different angles.

Good day i was a player then a ref for 25 years, then they got faster and i got slower. Now disabled i enjoyed my time in the game i love. Its great exercise and i traveled all over local town wish i still could cheers i have been there

I enjoyed your video a lot! I officiated from ages 34-49, until my knees just wouldn't allow me to skate at what I felt was an acceptable level anymore and without feeling pain. Keep skating for as long as you're able to!

Cool hat at 5:36 ! (I am a Kings Fan) It is cool how all the players shook the referees' hands after the game. Is that just something that happens in Sweden? In America, Referees are disrespected by many people and the hand shaking after the game looks so foreign. I do love it though.

my boyfriend is learning how to ref and he did a minor hockey league game for U11 today, and everyone went and shook his and his partners hand, even the coaches. i have not seen this at the other hockey games I've been at, but i also dont really pay attention. im in canada, btw.

The way the system is set up, the refs are usually prohibited from moving off of the boards
These kids look pretty old, what the age and level?
Theyâre 13-14 years old and itâs the highest level for their age
Oh wow, at that age we do a 3 man system in Canada. Where I live midget and minor midget (16-18)AA & AAA get a 4 man system and anything major peewee (13) and above is 3 man at the least.
Haha okay nice! Thatâs a big difference compared to Sweden! We only have 4 man system in the highest league SHL!

maby 2 different angles instead of 50. and I think we all know how to unlock doors, put on slippers or what ever and your shinguards are not actually hockey reffere shinguards. they are just icehockey shinguards. btw pls talk a bit louder because its a little hard hearing you
