Crazy start! I hope Biotherm gets back on the course soon ... its a long leg and lots can happen but I hate to see them get too far back. Excellent commentary Niall and Dee!!! This live was an excellent spectator experience ... for me, anyway. Thank you!
Well done, Eurosport ! Thank you for this report:) All the smooth camera-impressions are so helpful, to study the boats in wind and wave again and again...
Can you make a video about sails, where which one belongs and what they are called, because I keep getting confused when you talk about Jay 2 and 0 etc…😂
Hi Mark. The VO65s are only doing the VO65 Sprint Cup, which consists in 3 stages: - Alicante to Cabo Verde - Aarhus to The Hague - The Hague to Genova You can find more information about the route, here: theoceanrace.com/en/route-vo65

Well, that was all pretty embarrassing. Double reefed in nothing more than a fresh breeze and still rigs are falling apart. This is all going to end in tears.
So they have spare battens on board but they don’t want to waste them, they thought it was a better option to take the time penalty then to use their spare battens before hitting the southern ocean
@@georgiaschofield9596I think you miss my point. I don’t understand why they only have one replacement for each baton. They have begun the longest leg of The Ocean Race, approximately five weeks at sea. I’d have four or five replacements for each baton. The extra weight is insignificant so why not carry more replacements?
I sailed for many years in Cape Town and it's astonishing how the wind can change from 20knots plus to 0 in a matter of a few meters
Amazing to watch! Makes for great racing imo

How does Biotherm launch and retrieve their drone in seas and wind like this?
Where can I find coverage of the 65s?

Pretty they are not, but boy are they fast.

I stopped watching when these boats came on the scene.
where are the VO65`?
I honestly can not believe that 11th Hour would not be carrying many spare battens. 2 hours delay for a few kilograms of weight?????????🤷♂️
