      I got reaper recently and I think I hate it. Why are things like zoom and scroll so dumb? Barely spin my mouse wheel and I’m now looking at my project from the moon, 10 hours into my 3 minute song, and my regions are so small that they’re not even visible to the naked eye.

    • @shacqwavemuzik
      @shacqwavemuzik Před 4 měsíci

      @@YeahButStilll Lol I use to feel the same way until I looked up tutorials on mouse scrolling customization. Honestly, reaper is great, but you need a lot of patience with it to get it to work for you. Right now reaper operates similarly to all my favorite daws like Ableton and Logic, but it can even do much more.

      @andreasfranzmann9634 Před 3 lety +1

      Kafzilla Good question indeed! Changing DAWs is like driving a new car in a foreign country. Maybe the car is faster and more conveniant but it takes some time to internalize that switches and everything are somewhere else. And the traffic is on the other side. 😜 What holds me back is mainly that it took me almost half a year to "own" S1 completely. Meaning that I am never running against a wall, am aible to fix every bug or problem without a web search and nothing keeps me from making music. This takes time also/especially with Reaper and doesn't come easy esp. now where I am in a constant flow of writing and producing.
      Btw. I have paid for the license already and have Reaper running already for including watermarks and some video work.

    • @andreasfranzmann9634
      @andreasfranzmann9634 Před 3 lety +1

      Rob van Hees certainly true! Do you have to switch your buffer block size a lot when recording vs. mixing?
      Having to type in numbers makes me feel like I'm a programmer and is a bit intimidating in Reaper I think. Also there is no action or shortcut for this (as far as I can see).

    • @Kafzilla
      @Kafzilla Před 3 lety

      @@andreasfranzmann9634 I know what you mean. To follow the car analogy it also sounds like learning how to use a clutch by watching someone else drive the car :) At least you are taking it for test rides! Learning new software can also be very time consuming as you hint.
      Regarding buffer sizes I think it's fine to just pick any power of 2 (64,128,256 etc) though I haven't tried in-between numbers. My guess to why there isn't an action for it is that it may reset the sound card. For my soundcard there's also a toolbar option for it.

    Kenny's videos are always so clearly informative and reliable that I didn't expect to get tripped up with the ctrl+h shortcut for time stretching at 4:10 - it just didn't work for me.
    Looking at Options->Preferences->Mouse Modifiers, that functionality turns out to be accessible through Alt and Shift+Alt - this conforms to the fact of the Ctrl+h shortcut not appearing anywhere in my default v6.30
    Despite having figured that out, it still feels like Kenny's always right and I somehow messed up. Anyone else had similar issues time-stretching razor edits?
