It Was Hard To See The Crabs

- Blue Crabs, in this video we'll be in Waveland Mississippi catching Blue Crabs from a seawall. We'll be using handlines with chicken for bait. We crabbed for a couple of hours but had to stop because we could see a couple of storms coming.
We went to some shelter that we used recently to clean and cook the Blue Crabs. When we were done we went back to our room and had a great Crab dinner.

Hi Sam & Joyce. Me and my wife enjoy your videos. I used to live in Ocean Springs Mississippi back in the late 70's early 80's for a short period of time. The casino s weren't around then. Went to Ocean Springs school. I'm sure the area has changed. We used to catch buckets of crabs back in the day. We also went flounder gigging and soft shell crabbing at night.

I miss doing that with the wife and kids back in the 80s on the St. Johns River. Now I just buy them from local crabbers. We may do it again if we ever retire. Thank you for sharing.

Wife and I were in fort Morgan Alabama this week. Blue crabs were everywhere. A guy used a net and got 32 just walking 4to5 feet out. Never seen so many

Paul that happens to us all the time. Yesterday we were reviewing a lake house (a lot of crabs in this lake) and it rained hard for over 3 hours. I forgot to pull the drain plug out on our Carolina Skiff, by the time I realized it there was about 10 inches of water in the boat and it was still raining hard. I got a bucket and started bailing until I had enough clearance for the rest of the water to drain out. I better fix the bilge pump lol. Thanks again for Watching our videos

We are down near the Corpus Christi, Texas area and we used to crab all the time. There are so many commercial crabbers now you can’t find a good space to put out your traps. Y’all are so much fun to watch , I can taste those crabs!
When I see a commercial crabber I go over to his boat and introduce myself and tell him we'll be setting a few traps in the area and I make sure I stay as far away from his as possible. So far they all have been friendly and one actually told us where to set our traps. Thanks for Watching our videos

S&J , I'm driving back up to NJ after Labor Day to go crabbing for a week straight with my 2 older kids .. I bought a house in NC but my boat n traps are up north should be fun .. be well guys MB ..
I used to catch a lot of crab when we lived in N.J. mostly in the fall and I did some clamming. Have a safe trip, hope you load up.

Holy cows that is some rain. I can't remember when it rained like that up here in the PNW. Sam you two do crab and shrimp. Is there any place down there you can get clams, mussels and oysters? If there is you should do a clip on doing those. Always fun watching you two, Stay dry.
We used to go clamming all the time and had a lot of fun doing it but something killed all the clams in our area. I'm looking into some other areas in Florida where we can go clamming again. When I was young I did some commercial clamming. Thanks for Watching our videos
all this measuring makes me envision a cartoon of a blue crab, nubbing down his points, and his friends points for a fee, to avoid being taken. lol 😅
Gail, that's funny it could happen, if they worked together and pinched each other's points off lol. Sometimes a crab looks small but it has long points and it's a 6 inch crab.

Is it legal to use that ring trap for crabs off a pier at night in Florida?
I wonder if it would work for lobster also
As far as I know the only regulations for crabbing at night are for the commercial style traps, you can't set or pull them after sundown. I wouldn't set more than 5, not because it's illegal but because the rules are so vague in Florida all FWC officers don't interpret them the same.
Those crabs look way bigger on the plate.
They were nice size crab.
