it seems like the aggression and recklessness in Tyler and his dad (and Mason before he turned) stems from the werewolf gene almost forcing the person into triggering their curse, rather than it just being a random trait. Both times we saw Tyler get into a fight in s1 it looked more like he was fighting to kill rather than just typical teenage boy stuff.

Idk, as i rewatch the show more and more, i start to dislike those parts more. Especially in these guys reactions, I've been seeing Damon as this charismatic serial killer and his brother who defends all his actions and has a child for a girlfriend whom he bites and licks every night. Like you get what I mean?😂 Also Caroline murdering people and not giving a shit.

@@rexibhazoboa7097 it always bothered me and it took me too long to understand that it's in a vampire's nature to kill humans so the fact that it's "normalized" in the show is because it is normalized for vampires, and it actually is not as normal or natural for vampires to be accepted by humans and be close with them.

I think it makes sense for Stefan to feed from Elena. His whole issue is that he doesn’t have control, so the best way to learn is by drinking from the one person he doesn’t want to hurt. It kinda forces him to regulate himself.

You guys probably don't remember but Kat Graham who plays Bonnie and the actress who plays Amy. Both were in that Zac Efron movie, 17 again, they played the best friends of the teenage daughter.

We heard throughout season 1 that Katherine was this manipulative person who was so good at wrapping men around her finger so it’s great to see that in action in season 2, it doesn’t feel like they oversold it in s1
I always love when they build up a character and when you meet them they are everything as advertised and more. This is doubly true with Katherine. Best TVD character

Fun fact, the actor who plays Jeremy is the grandson of a really famous actor from the 60s/70s Steve McQueen. And I'm pretty sure his cousin is the singer Enrique Iglesias through marriage.
I think the difference between a few drops of blood from a bag or from Elena is that with a bag there's no incentive to stop. He can drink from the bag without Elena being present and will have to purely rely on self control. With Elena he is conditioned to not want to hurt her so he HAS to exercise more self-restraint.
stefan and elena are such kids around eachother but i love it. they both been in such dark places. elena very recently. it’s nice seeing them bring out happiness in eachother. 💗

I'm 100% Team Damon but y'all are tripping with the Stefan hate especially when it comes to him and Elena. I thought the ending was fitting for him to drink her blood because it makes it more personal and would make him want to control himself. If it's just random blood then Stefan doesn't really care where it comes from as long as he can have as much as he can, but he can't do that with Elena. Plus, for a love story between human and vampire that is a pretty intimate moment.

In fairness to Bryce- Mason did have a genuine reason to be in town (his brother had just died). That being said... Katherine is responsible for at least a few of the passersby in Mystic Falls and there's one in particular I'm thinking of a but don't want to spoil (but am sad there are enough that there's no guarantee no one will know which I mean)... Anyway, when Bryce says Katherine looked pleased at the guy's death/Mason's transformation- think about episode 2 of this season when Damon (who repeatedly seems to, knowingly or unknowingly, imitate his creator Katherine) compelled BJ Britt's Carter to provoke Tyler into a fight to bring Mason running... But yes, Katherine is definitely doing a little Thanos-ing.

One thing the show never explained well is the significance of blood sharing. In the books, blood sharing is an extremely intimate experience that can be placed on the same level as sex... just a lil nugget of info I thought you guys might wanna know.😉

One thing that has always boggled my mind is that the 1860’s council never wrote down in their MANY journals the identities of the vampires they knew (Pearl, Anna, Catherine, etc.) They could have had pictures (like the one of Catherine) or drawings of em, just something more than that “vampires def exist”! They also never wrote down that some of them could walk in sunlight?? Why not include that massive fact that they def knew???
The original council believed that got rid of those vampires. Anna got away somehow, don’t remember if they said how. But it’s likely that the original council thought they got her. They also believed and did get Pearl. They also believed they got Katherine, it was a guard that was obsessed with her that let her go if she turned him. So they didn’t know she left. The original council also didn’t know Stefan and Damon were turned (I know you technically didn’t list them but I added them). The council didn’t write them down basically they believed they were taken care of. I think John Gilbert wrote about Pearl in one of his journals. Uncle John might have mentioned it. As for pictures, Katherine could have snatched them up for all we know as we do know she got her picture taken back then. If I was her, I’d definitely want my picture out of everyone’s hands.

Stefan drinking Elena's blood is much much worse for him in terms of temptation than drinking it the way Damon does, with blood bags 😂 I know it's a move like "I'm gonna be by your side no matter what uwu" but it's just stupid in terms of who Stefan is, who Elena is to Stefan, and how Stefan's addiction works.

For the most part, everyone understands the acting assignment of this teen vampire drama and gives a good performance. I'm sorry to put anyone on blast but Steven McQueen, who plays Jeremy, is the exception to that imo. His portrayal changes multiple times (we've already seen like 3 iterations of the character) and they're all too distracting to me. Ian Somerhalder does this vocal inflection where he kind of rolls the words around in his throat and/or delivers his lines out of his side-smirk. It's incredibly engaging, especially when combined with his active face acting. It feels like Steven is trying to do those vocal techniques too and failing awkwardly, in combination with lower face acting than even the average actor on this show. None of it works for me.
If they had to do vampire diaries all over again, I kind of wish that instead of casting a guy who looked already halfway through the "beefcake alpha" door at 15 years old, they cast a younger actor who's legit gangly and "younger brotherly." Jeremy is actually a character that serves a unique purpose and his annoying, angsty behavior (as determined by the writing) is uniquely grounded in such an off-the-wall show. By all means, pick a kid good-looking to the younger teen audience that's destined for a mature glow-up if you must, this is the CW after all, but make the actor wait a few seasons before going on designer Hollywood steroids. Let Elena's annoying kid brother be an annoying kid brother. They're always trying to come up with stuff for him to do anyway, just hire an actual minor actor and accommodate his reduced set hours in the script. Anyway, sorry to Steven McQueen. I don't mean to rip on him but it's one of only a few negative acting opinions I have on this show of the whole 8 seasons.
While I may giggle a bit at blood-junkie Stefan, I will offer that Paul Wesley is an excellent actor and gives an equally unique, if less showy, performance to Ian. Just some eager cred thrown by a card-carrying member of team Damon They did a great job of writing a script with two males leads that are fundamentally different in demeanor, life outlook/motivations, and character traits while also having a believable brotherly bond and play well off each other in the dialogue. While I do enjoy the dysfunctional, swoony romance that speaks to the part of my soul where my vampire-obsessed teen self still resides, the interactions between Damon and Stefan are probably my next favorite element. They also did a good job of choosing two actors that deliver very distinct performances and have great chemistry. That's my praise to balance out my Jeremy/Steven rant.

Self-defence but Katherine probably had a hand in it with her compulsion ability. Also, if it happened while in Mystic Falls, his family is wealthy and influential. His brother was the mayor. And would probably have reach even outside Mystic Falls.
Waiting for the moment the producers realise Bonnie is a good character to have in the show and deserves some character development and focus.
