Many thanks for this excellent video. Just done the driver’s side on an Evoque with an external keyed lock. Much easier with the external handle removed. I left all the actuator cables (3) attached. Got both motors on EBay for £15. ‘Almost’ looking forward to the next lock failing just for the satisfaction of mending it!!
Completed this fix today on my third door, same car! All sorted. It's a fiddly job getting the actuator out in the first place, but possible if you persevere.
Ordered a motor from you and completed the job today on the back door passenger side. The most difficult part I found was getting the actuator, and the door handle out. But now it's all sorted, now I need to do the same on the driver's door!
Many thanks for this Iain. I swapped out the whole thing then ordered a replacement motor so thanks to your excellent vid I now have a spare OSR latch. Cheers.
Fantastic video. The first to fail on my 2015 Evoque was the left rear and it was over $200 for the new actuator. The front left is going out now and I have a motor ready to go. Thank you!
Hi. Same is my. I bought the actuator for drivers side cost 80pounds for a part. And after repair. My another two door are out again. Please what part are motor number please.
@@bboysonicvincent1806 I don't have a part number. It is a motor I found on eBay. It worked great. "car door lock actuator motor for Ford Mondeo Mazda m3 land Rover Volvo" was the name of what I purchased.
Hi Iain, Wonderful instructional piece. Thank you. Two Qs pls: 1. Is the electric motor you supply suitable to repair the MY12 Discovery 4 rear passenger door actuator please? 2. Does your eBay site post to Australia? Thank you.
Hi Jeffrey, thanks for your kind words. To answer your questions, yes it will repair your vehicle, and I can post anywhere as long as you cover the extra cost. @@knebworth1429 By what you have said it sounds like you have a different issue... If the door can't be opened manually then either the dead lock motor has failed (unusual) or the whole actuator has had a mechanical/electrical fault. You may not be able to take the door card off without damaging it. If you do get the actuator out I can supply you with the correct motor for the dead locks (smaller of the two). All the best 👍

Hi do you know how to fix the passenger side door lock on a 2007 Range Rover sport. The key lock is coming out and the door won’t lock as a whole?
Do you still sell these motors? I have the one in my car working whenever it feels like it…

To prevent this problem in the first place, don’t by a range rover
it's a common central locking motor on several brands
Yawn !
