    Awesome job, I use my la pavoni everyday. I have learned to pull back to back shots by dipping the group head into a cup of cold water each time I pull another shot, keeps the temp regulated. It's truly an enjoyable machine to use.

    Almost identical to my own routine, though I’ve taken to releasing a little steam just before the raise as well. Those rituals the LP encourages.

    Thanks for the nice video. I have purchased the Europiccola back in 2016, and it still works great. Except my Graef grinder failed on me, I didn't get the nice Espresso crema anymore! I'm searching reviews about the Eureka in combination with the Europiccola, and arrived on your channel. Thank you for the confirmation.

    Gorgeous short film! The thin DOF really gives the shots a luxury feel - which befits your exquisite coffee equipment very well. The lighting is also very good and combines well with the clean interior and blue denim shirt.
    Just a small note: try to keep the 180° degree rule. Sometimes you cut from the one side of the machine to a close-up of the other, which is a bit jarring (for example at (1:08-1:13).
    Also, at 01:53 I would have filmed from a bit higher angle, so you could see the actual coffee being pressed in the cup. There’s too much distraction and blank space around the cup now, whereas the coffee should be the focus. Just some tips for a generally extreme well-done video!
    Koffie drink ze!

    1:30 Looks like you have way too much pressure in the group head. Maybe your grind is too fine? You can also raise the steam wand to stop it dripping while you pull.

      I'm using Fellow Atmos, just a small tip, to wash with soap every 2-3 batches of bean change. Or else the coffee oil left might turn rancid and make next batch of fresh beans tasted weird. Haha.@@marthijndevries

  • @dmitryu1611

    Hello, Marthijn. Recently I got my own Europiccola and Mignon Specialita. Let me ask you a question. Where does the espresso range begin on your Specialita? I tried different beans and in my case the range begins at about 60-90 degrees of spinning the dial wheel from the burrs touching point. Is it ok or my burrs aren't aligned?

    • @marthijndevries
      @marthijndevries  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi Dimitry. That's a hard question to answer. Your doing it the right way. Just turn the grinder all the way down until burrs touch, then open it up again with interfalls of a quarter dial. Remember to always keep your dose the same and throw a little bit of ground coffee away before you try again (there is always some 'old' grounds left in the grinder). Good luck!

    Is it possible to pull a double that is flowing/splitting into two separate coffee cups, and froating milk afterwards to create two latte's at the same time?

    • @marthijndevries
      @marthijndevries  Před 3 lety +1

      Hello! Yeah it is. But the espresso's with a normal portafilter are more like singles shots; so I would recommend making coffee one at the time.

    • @vinnyvasquez
      @vinnyvasquez Před 3 lety +1

      It is possible but often the coffee only comes out of one side at the start of a pull so it would often be uneven shots.

    That tamp was visibly uneven, and there's still false pressure in the boiler (you can tell from the leaking steam wand).
    Also, purge some water through the grouphead before you pull the shot to increase the temperature since it looks like you're using a light roast.
