    This is surreal.
    Spartanburg County in SC just installed 10 sections plus 2 aprons under our pigtail of a road. Then, it widened the road to match. They are awesome. We've had two massive floods since, and they held beautifully with NO erosion!!!

    That's a bunker ! Plenty of headroom ...two of those side by side x however long you need and your safe until it's time to emerge !

    I can see why the pre-cast boxes are so much cheaper to install. I spent many months of my youth building poured-in--place boxes. I do not miss it. :) Nice video.

    Well done, job! Coconut mats prevent soil erosion on slope to hold vegetation in place. Rock placement, too. Again, very well done project.

    You could build one heck of a underground structure out of these units.

    I have set many of these. The last one was double barrel and around 160 FT. We had one excavator and a 80 ton crane. I just set the 44,000 lb sections and the excavator does the rest. I was never around when they finished the job but all the equip you have there was probably used after I left. I bet you used 1 extra excavator that you owned VS what we used and didn't need to rent a crane. My state uses a seal on the connection without the mastic on the outside so we just drop a red solo cup of concrete in the holes at the pick points and backfill. My first precast culvert was in 1988 and I could be the poster boy for what not to do with a crane but it all worked out. The dumbest thing I ever did with a crane was on a precast culvert but I don't say where or when very often.

    placing a concrete pad down is way better because when you put the boxes together there wont be stone between the joints and the pad keeps the level all the time especially if your close to any water table or dirt that's not great . You can say oh thats more money but when you have to go back and fix it you didnt save anything

    So yo wrapped and sealed the top and sides.. but nothing on the bottom where the water is flowing.. what the hell is keeping it from seeping into the ground?

    the bolts that are fixed to prevent the frame bridge elements from separating are not removed?. cannot the excess of these bolts and nuts cause a brake on the perfect flow of runoff water?

    • @joshua43214
      @joshua43214 Před 5 měsíci +1

      Culverts are designed to be self-cleaning under normal circumstances, but still have the capacity to handle the worst flood an area can expect. Those draw bolts will only see water during an extreme flood, and you will be more worried about trees clogging the pipe than a bit of turbulence from the bolts.
