Such a well-made and necessary video. The amount of times pros make guides just to read the movelists and tell us SOME frames, it's insane. All of that can be found in-game. Set ups, frame traps, options and mind games at distance are what really separate yellow and higher ranks. Yellow and below is all just who gets off the most surprising and annoying lows. You have to win worse at the game cos no one respects each other so everything has to be on your turn and should probs just go low every time cos some players never react or don't know they're forced to play the 50/50

Timing is THE most interesting part of Tekken, and I could watch videos specifically made for that topic for hours (along with Movement, which is another one)
And the beauty of Tekken comes from the fact that the most fundamental things are Timings and Movement, and yet, they are the deepest concepts in entire game.
Not with the introduction of tracking and characters like kuni, zafina. In build defence for so many charcters ... the game is a joke compared to skills needed in tekken 5

this vid's been out for 3 years at this point and sometimes I still find myself going back to it from time to time when I feel lost or I feel like I don't get respected in ranked (making me a doofus since the oppressive character is the one oppressed). Thank you jin senseis for jin school, I really hope the release of Tekken 8 revives this banger of a series to help out fellow jin mains and players struggling to connect with the character.

Someone putting your name into Arya's recent content creator podcast and I didn't expect much but godamn this video is sick! I just switched from King to Jin and apparently he's the main focus here. I have to relearn a complete different was to play and rhythm to fight and this video contains a ton of helpful advice you just won't get anywhere else.

I often watch the Jin School video, full of inspirations, then I got mashed on ranked with any difference.
A suggestion: maybe is needed a format that explain a single aspect with examples... like clips from streaming sessions. Or just add (also) long playing session like a sort of (local) streaming...
low editing, more quantity. I learned so much looking at the CBM recorded matches (missing the 50% of the execution-related stuff) looking at his combos while happening, stopping and rewatching when he landed a EWHF, and similar details.
It's counter-intutive, or it's me old school, learning more from ranked than pratice...

Another tip if you want to really elevate your Jin is to study and have a decent parry game. It's something that I still have to learn too but having that along with the tips in this vid will take you to new heights.

Don't agree with f+4 not being pickable at longer ranges, you just gotta grind enough to do it properly. Especially if you learn to do the microdash b+2,1 after WS4, it floats for a combo from wherever.
Also weird that you didn't mention anything to do against SSR pressure. Most of Jin's offense just straight up whiffs against SSR/Jin's left side, so you can't establish anything. My only proper solution has been the usage of f+3, but that's really a weak reward for knowing something your opponent will do. Do you have any other moves that I don't know of that reliably track to SSR/Jin's left side? eCD+1 isn't fast enough and magic 4 is a risk since it's duckable, same with d+4, low parryable. Are there really no better tools? Maybe uf+2?

@@DamageXcaling hmm. Yeah i guess the two frame sacrifice(with the perfect input) can be worth it. Just being under kazumi's pressure that likes to jab into ssr or df1 into ssr, it really is burdensome without a proper tracking move.

I fight against my cousins and so many low rank players nd what I notice is that they never change their 50/50 response or round-starting options.
I figured out I could backsetp my cousin and even d 3+4 him and every single time after that, he did it again. I looked over and he looked completely casual. Not angry like it failed again, not suprised I launched him again... He's not so new to the mechanics he would think two perfect inputs could somehow turn out different... I question if he was stubborn and sabotaging himself or waiting till I finally did something else but getting launched for free 9/10 time (except from when I switched, just in case he was trynna play mind games) is just bad gameplay
These blue ranks stand high nearly every single time and others wait low every single time, you can even see them crouch early, like I should be proud they're wary of sweeps.... while I'd smashing them with everything in the moveslist
