My wife and I enjoyed Helen Lake on the Icefields Parkway for effort/reward -- it was one of the smokey days in 2020 but it was magical once we got past the lake and started up the ridge. Thanks for this, we love camping in Loughheed but we always head to the Highwood Pass for hikes. Rawson will definitely be on our list going forward!
Thanks for watching, Helen Lake is another great option! I'd also recommend Sulphur skyline in Jasper too!
It was awesome!! Love the vid 🔥
Thanks mate! Feel like my colour grading is still a little all over the place!
Good explanation of the hike - cameras truly cannot do the steepness justice! Very worth doing. I didn't have poles, but agree they would definitely be worth having. A few sketchy sections where one would want as much stability and traction as possible. Great video! PS. kinda jealous you got to see goats! glad there was no commotion :)
Thanks for watching, the goat was a big boy!
Last did Sarrail Ridge end of Sept2023. Steep dirt is worn by thousands of hikers over season. Years ago, there used to be chiseled steps in the dirt. Now have to go offtrail on grassy bits. And forget about it when its raining. Very muddy and mosquito infested in May. Beautiful wildflowers and still some snow early July. And treacherous after early rain/snow in October.
Yeah wouldn't recommend it in snow. Not too much rain in the Rockies though so easy to work around.
wow👍👍
Low effort, very scenic: Its Banff - so many! King Creek Ridge. Ha Ling. Devi's Thumb. Parker Ridge.
High effort (6hr+), crazy views: Cirque Peak. Observation Peak, Wilcox+Nigel Peak
Thumbs up for the goats
Such a good experience with the goats!
What program was used for animation in the first few seconds where the map and route was shown.
Just some After Effects
Yes but after effects how? Any editor used ?
@@zeetestec6205 I made the animation in After Effects. That is the program that I used.
Sunset?
This was sunset, I've been for sunrise before but it's easier to navigate a trip you've gone up in the day when you go back in the dark!
@@simoncennals What time was it ? I mean how long before sunset.
@@babababa8472 we must have gotten up there at least an hour before. That's what I'd always aim for for any photography session though.
