- Abe has another welding test for you guys! 3/8" plate in the 3G position using the stick welding process. This is another type of test you guys will run into if you are testing out for structural and this is how Abe tackles this particular weld test. So nice arc 3g welding
You guys run 77amp with 6010 3/32 rod or 1/8 rod?? And 7018 3/32 or 1/8 rod ??
Oh what a relief, I thought I'm the only one who have shaky hands.
Dan claces en español, y que costo tendrían los cursos
Your arc shots are very very helpful.
6010 open root - 2:44 4:40
7018 fill - 9:20
7018 cap - 14:44
Enchanté.
🔥🔥🔥
Yes...
Думаю что тока надо было по меньше на корне шва
That was easily the most thorough and well spoken explanation I've seen in a while. The students there are very very lucky. Great camera work and editing as well. Props all around. What a resource.
Best explanation of weld technique i have ever seen. Excellent video. Keep em coming. Thank you!!!!
64 years old, been welding 35 year, and have a welding business, love your videos, never too old or experience to learn, keep up the good work
Love hearing him describe it all… explaining a hand-eye skill to someone will have you tongue-tied. 10 outta 10
it's amazing how you explain things in great details. especially for me because i'm still learning how to weld.
i've seen some videos of welding but they just show how they weld and not explain it..so i'm very thankful for finding videos like this from which i can learn so much .. Thank you
God bless and keep it up..
Yo bro it took me 3 tries to certify me in this weld your video would have helped me tremendously about 5 months ago😅 thank you though bro love you
Great video, love the different techniques but great results.
Beautiful! Nice video! Perfect cam shots and angles, CLEAR VIEWS, well picked and easily digestive words for the detailed explaination ! Nice music!
God bless!
Best instructor all the details in this videos it's gold
Great video me personally I like to run stringers. Thank you guys for making these videos I have learned quite a bit from all of weldtubes videos.
To slow, causes too much heat to build up, and if you're not careful you can leave more inclusions if heat and travel speed aren't right. Weaving done right gives you more control of metal deposited and better control of residual heat buildup, and a more proportional cap foundation. Practice, practice, practice. 👍
@@MH-WM root paa 7018??
@@MH-WM I get you when I try doing stringers some of me welds have bumps. But with small weave I sometimes weave more than I should it’s hard to do small weaves
@@MH-WM weaving is slower than stringers. If you have "more control" doing one or the other than stick to that, they both accomplish the same things. I would agree that weaving can be more efficient if done well, but takes a lot more practice to consistently do properly. To each their own.
One of the best open root tutorials I have seen 👍🏻
Another one down. Awesome video guys. I was digging the audio mix during the cap. Lol. Good job guys.
this mix thing is awesome.
Hi
Wow! Nice tutorial. I have to do this for mid terms this evening, I feel a lot more confident now 👍
Really good video. You stayed on the subject and didn't beat around the bush. Very good.
thx for the explanation part with the drawing and switch to actual weld. Really helped me out
Thank you for your posts. At this time I cannot attend class because of the virus. These keep me fresh and help me in the down time.
I've been struggling with my 3f position and just can't seem to get it straightened out so I'm gonna use your method and see how I do.
Thanks for your vids, keep them coming.
The main thing is hold your toes... The old timer that taught me drilled that shit into me all them years ago HOLD YOUR TOES.
Ernest Gary wait what do you mean by that? I have a test coming up and I need all the advice I can get
@@user-hy5hn5rc2w so how'd that test go
@@Infamous_q50 man I had one tiny spot in the last bend that they bent. The guy on morning shift said he would’ve passed it but the night shift guy wasn’t cutting corners. I went and tried again, and my cap was 100% better than the first time but my root must’ve been worse than the first time because my first piece broke completely in half. I had to repair the root on the second one a few times so I’m assuming that’s why. So I’m gonna practice and then go try again one day in the future. Thank you for checking with me, I appreciate that.
@@Infamous_q50 I even took pictures of the cap, my second try, because I was so confident that I had it in the bag. But that root just wasn’t good enough. I was upset but they were really encouraging to me, told me to come back and try again when I had practiced a bit. I just hate failure but I was bound to bust out at some point in the career.
Nice video. Very well taught Abe, thank you
You guys have helped me sooo much! Im gonna head down to your school and take a class or two once im done with welding school up here in colorado.
Awesome root technique. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I'm just starting this at school finished the 2G open root today
16:05 did you see how he caught and slayd that undercut? BOOM!
i caught that. smooth with it
@@taylorknott400 you ain’t never lied my bro. Extra smooth.
Good lesson bro 👍🔥😎. Love it

I like how he explains the statement he makes and the negative side of each decision.
We will have our assessment next month, in SMAW thanks for your videos. It really helped a lot. I hope to pass the assesment..

Absolutely beautiful welds
Very well made informative video!! 🙏 👌🏽
Muy buena explicación de la técnica que se debe usar al soldar con electrodo en la posición vertical
Really good show! People can us this and be better!!!
From Detroit, this is one seriously well-executed teaching lesson. I am in welding school with this EXACT test coming at me in 3 weeks. I have it saved in my paly list and I will watch it again and again. Thank you again, and I have NEVER seen or heard it explained so well. Thank you.
Good pointers, thanks!
Excelente, sigo su canal recientemente. Ojala y hagan mas videos en español.
What camera setup are you using to show the arc and puddle? Great explanation . . .thanks
I’ve never seen a bead like that on back of the plate looks nice

I really like the Tec you use but you and your brother have a good hand for this keep it up
Good job ☺.. thank you for information
Thanks and it helps me a lot
This is going to help me out monday
When i was learning stick in school i asked about feathering. My teacher asked if i was kidding.. but this is good stuff
Biggest problem with welding instruction, teaching only one variability.
There are multiple ways to do almost everything.
Thank you for this video , i have an assestment this coming thursday actual about that 3G position , it very help a lot that video , THANKYOU
I have an assessment on Thursday in the same position too lol
Sorry hehe I don't know how to speak in english perfectly hehe , but Thank you

Great 👍 I learn a lot . Thanks 🙏👍
It's help me a lot, thank u so much 😍❤️
Are you welder?
Damn this man is a Inspiration, I'm first year student and we r on this project ,I wish I could get this technical operation in my weld
Make multiple plates an smoke them all out one after another.
Awesome control Sir 🙏🏻
Love the last song and the voice effect xD
Tomorrow I'm going to take the 3G welder test, but I'm nervous, so when I make vis, I don't realize I'm using a large gap
Your video is very helpful,
Others are not teach like you.
Thanks so much for this
Wow thanks for this explanation
thank you sir for give idea's for the beginirs out there
In two videos 4g and now 3g you have taught me more about SMAW than my technical school..
If it weren't for the internet I would never progress in welding.
I'm having problems doing a 3g root pass, I keep fucking up the end and it's a self paced class. Instructors just sit at their desks and don't really help out.
Same at Tulsa Welding School in 101.
Oi boa noite , Qual foi a operagem que vc usou para fazer a solda subindo com eletror revestido
Thank for your uploading video like this..hope more video...can i do have a favor can you make video of different welding waving techniques
Thank you for very good technique that is the same as my welding teacher technique.
Very good welding btw, just wondering if thus has ever been x rayed
Amazing, el disco de la pulidora es de corte ? O de pulir gracias Saludos!
Can you do a vid on arc gouch in the the 3gn4g position. Followed along with dual shield welding would be helpful!? 🤟
root pass 7018 ??????
awesome it. thanks for given us.
Excellent tips bro
Well explained but not that simple what makes it a challenge is 1 from machine to machine the amps differ a little and youre traveling speed that is crucial and even knowing that the amps and landing will work for you or not like me a prefer a 3.2mm rod with 3.2 mm root face and root gap or 2.4mm rod with 2.4mm root face and gap at 85amps so the speed im traveling at wont be the same because look at the amps but you give a good starter guide even that you sound nervous but you know youre stuff bud
Thanks bro‼️
Very good and informative video.
How do you keep the plate from butterflying without a jig?
Great video, I always do the count out loud too! But a second is a second no fast or slow seconds lol
I think of different length seconds as beats in music. The time signature can change depending on the weld puddle characteristics.
Though consistency of time is important, the beats themselves are subjective to the conditions in my mind.
It's called a Count, such as a two-count or three-count. Same name in music.
Excellent work there
Thank you bro😍
When that beat drops at 14:38 minute mark you know it's about to get real up under the hood
On the second bead for the cap do you pause on the right instead off the left?love the videos really has helped me out alot
Yes. Pause on the base metal side to avoid undercut.
Can you do a horizontal open root test stick
Thanks from canary islands!
Thx for vid !
Outstanding!!!
Beautiful!
Nice work my friend
GRACIAS POR COMPARTIR ESTE INTERESANTE VIDEO.
SALUDOS DESDE HOLLYWOOD FL , USA.
Awesome job
it looks really good in my opinion but my teachers would have told me that your two stringers on your caps aren’t flushed with each other and would be rejected so idk if my teachers are being very picky or the inspectors would really reject it
Great.. Thanks for your video
very good
Welding instruction with West Coast flair. Still choppin' on the low low. Hell yeah!
