THOUGH there's a benefit with XLR in that the contacts all connect simultaneously with no worry about mismatching when sliding a cable in or out. When you pull a TS/TRS plug out, different poles may be in contact during that; not so with XLR, which makes it safer for phantom power (and avoid some pops and cracks). Phantom power with TRS... well, it's electrically doable, but I wouldn't.
There is a locking connector available, but it's not as robust as xlr. The biggest drawback to trs is that it's a single contact point, which can be subject to dirt, corrosion, or wear in the spring connection. The trs is a sleeve type contact.
im using mintor speakers hs8 with yamaha mg12xu , if i use ts cable or trs with headphones to speakers always there's noise , they only work with xlr clean sound
He posted a video about it, if you’re interested in everything sound I would definitely go through his channel. I’m working my way through and loving every bit of it 🤙
I do understand that you are talking about the connection between speakers. But if an xlr cable is the same as trs, I just wonder why +48 won’t go through a xlr female to 1/4” trs. (Condenser Mic) Just wondering why that is ?
Phantom power will go through a XLR-F to 1/4” TRS cable. Just be careful to turn off phantom power while connecting and disconnecting the TRS end because this could cause a momentary short in the connection.
if you think about it people who want to know the answer to this question are gonna search which cable is better into the search bar, making it more likely to reach those people with a title like this
They can both pass phantom power. But avoid disconnecting or connecting a TRS while phantom power is engaged, as it can create a short that may cause damage.
Also make sure that the TRS cable is carrying a balanced signal and not a Left and Right unbalanced signal from a headphone jack
Very much enjoying this little nuggets of info! Keep up the great work!
Glad you’re enjoying them, Mick! Thanks!

Thank you for this info..its very much appreciated.
Informative content❤
Glad you liked it! Thanks!
Hii.. Please start posting these shorts on Instagram... Would be really helpful 👍.. Truly helpful content anyway. ❤️
What about connection locking method? My understanding is XLR has better locking than TRS.

Does it mean I wouldn't need a DI Box if I'm running a TRS cable from my guitar to the console or stage box that is a little distant from my position?
how can i determine that the output of my device is for TRS and/or TS? no manual and made in China

I don't know y im facing a cracking sound while recording music
I'm sticking with XLR
TS = uncircumcised
TRS = circumcised
So circumcision is better eh? Hahaha
Plz give me full information about xlr nd trs

I have a bahrenger behringer u-phoria umc22 and eco basic mixer, now How could I connect with mobile for Facebook live
I'm trying to take a main out l and r channels with a splitter and combine them into a trs 3.5mm cable for PC. Why can I find one
There is a small difference though. The difference is that phantom power will not go through the quarter inch yrs cable. I actually don’t know why?
*trs
Phantom power will go through TRS.

Thanks! I’ll tray that .
It's a trick question.
Almost click bait, didn’t really answer the question.

Because you are asking a wrong question!
